This is Wednesday, and that means I'll be seeing my therapist this afternoon, so that she can try to figure out the inner workings of my mind. Doesn't this sound like fun?

I'm beginning to think that seeing a therapist for this depression stuff may be a waste of time. I'm seriously considering telling her this will be the last day I'll be there. On the other hand, I don't think this is just going to disappear overnight. What to do, what to do, what to do...This is causing me one heck of an inner struggle.

Well, let me turn to the brighter side of life - NOT! There is a pretty good possibility that I will be entering a hospital Friday. The lower part of my body is really swollen, and they seem to want to do some diagnostic testing. Since when do doctors work on weekends? Most of them are usually golfing.

After tomorrow, if I don't write anything over the weekend, it will probably mean I'm in the hospital being cut up and turned into stew. Now there's a nice grizzly thought for me to think about when I go to bed tonight!

SOME ADVICE ON YOUR THERAPIST. IF YOU ENJOY HAVING SOMEONE TO TALK TO, PLEASE KEEP SEEING HER, IT CERTAINLY CAN\'T HURT YOU!!! NO, THEY DON\'T HAVE MAGIC WANDS, BUT HEY, I CAN TELL MY THERAPIST ANYTHING, AND THAT IS A BIG RELIEF FOR ME........IF YOU DO GO IN THE HOSPITAL I HOPE EVERYTHING GOES WELL FOR YOU!! Oh, so that\'s why today is bad. I went through one dippy counselor, and one shrink and his underling psychologist before I found the therapist that got me started on the right path, even though we never found the destination. She recommended the books that shed some light for me so she wasn\'t a total waste. The lower body swollen thing doesn\'t sound good, but if it\'s the common thing everyone else gets, should be solvable. Will keep fingers crossed for you!

I agree with Lisa that you should keep her to talk too...maybe that is why it isnt working so good. Your looking for a cure rather than a opportunity to speak freely and get some advice for that.
Now to the swelling... has that ever happened before? Could be that you just need a dieretic (sp) or something. The Doctors are paying more in malpractice insurance so that is why the spend their time golfing during the week, because they get it at a discount rate and it offsets the rise in insurance...hahaha

One \"dippy\" counselor? I\'ve seen five psychiatrists, two psychologists, and four therapists. What\'s the use of going on the right path if you can\'t find the destination?

I have a lot of trouble talking to my therapist, or anyone else I\'ve seen, about my problems. That\'s not her fault. I\'m not comfortable talking about everything. I\'m embarrassed and ashamed by some of the issues. I\'m afraid to say anything without censoring it first. I also have a very strong fear that she is going to yell at me about something. I\'ve gone through most of my life with people yelling at me. But no one at this clinic has ever come close to it. I keep thinking that I must be doing something wrong or else it would happen. I haven\'t made a final decision on what I\'ll do.

Thanks to everyone for the concern and support I\'ve received. I\'ll make a journal entry tomorrow so everyone will know what happened.

I hear you loud and clear. I have seen many sorts of \"professionals\" all with their own philosophies and ideas and diagnoses. Sometimes I think the key is to keep you talking so that perhaps in doing that, you will stumble across something profound. I wish you could open up more and say those things that are brewing deep inside without shame or guilt or a feeling \"judged\". Therapists should not yell or condemn anyone or they should lose their license! As for your hospital visit, I hope all goes well and they can help you, you are in my thoughts. Get them off the damn golf course and into the hospital where they belong. Good luck Jim.
