Well, I got back from seeing the psychiatrist. He gave me 2 prescriptions for refills on my medicines, said I looked the same, and that he'd see me in three months. That was it. A complete waste of time and money! It took me more time to get to his office than the amount of time he spent with me. GRRRR!

SOme Drs. just plain lick a big hairy dog!!! They got into the buisness telling themselves that they wanted to help people...LIE they wanted the money. Now that their malpractice insurance is so high they arent making the money anymore! BOOHOO! So they are just angry! Very sad.
I waited for an immediate care visit in an office on time for 3 hours, a half hour of that time I sat in the room listening to my Dr. talk about his ski trip!
I let him know when he rushed thru my visit that HE worked FOR ME, not the other way around and I would never come back to him again so that he could have more time to ski!!
He was embarassed, as he should be, and apologized but too little too late!
Remember these Doctors work FOR YOU!!! Ask how long you are scheduled for a visit at the front desk and make sure that is the time the Dr. spends with you and then make sure they dont leave until all your questions are answered. OR \"YOUR FIRED\"!!

Thanks for your advice. Now I have to get through tomorrow with my therapist. She always gives me a full hour, but now she only wants to see me every other week, rather than each week. I\'m not ready for that change yet, so I\'m pretty sure there will be fireworks when I see her.

She says that my Medicare/Medicaid coverage will last only a few more sessions. While that may be true, I told her my family has agreed to cover the costs of additional sessions. She told me she was glad to know that, and it would help her. When I consider that, I get more confused. She\'ll still get paid, so what\'s her problem?
Tell her she is suppose to be helping with your EXSISTING problems not creating new ones!
She has her money...there shouldnt be an issue. It\'s something I dont understand either. Was she grumpy when you talked to her?

Isn\'t there an agency in your area that can work with you, I guess it would be hard to switch therapists, I see mine on a sliding scale, depending on my income, which is not much right now, but she is truly concerned about my well being, and has even said to come in, even if I don\'t have the money. Sounds like either the therapist is being put in a difficult situation by her agency, or she is in the business like the psychiatrist, for the wrong reason. Some agencies stink, I used to work for one that stank big time, I hated the way they did business often, but they would make it sound like an ultimatum, I wanted to help people, they wanted to take advantage of people so they could get rich. Well, that\'s why I don\'t work there anymore.
I\'m trying to stay in therapy as long as I need it. Even though my brother and sister have offered to help financially, I\'m not sure I really trust either one of them. It\'s an on again, off again, thing with my sister. One day she acts like she\'s broke, and the next day she she says she has plenty of money in her savings. As for my brother, we aren\'t very close at all. He\'s resented me since childhood, and hasn\'t trusted me since finding out about my drug problem almost ten years ago. We live about an hour apart, and I\'m lucky (if you call it that) to see him more than two or three times a year.
My therapist says I\'m carrying around a lot of anger. Guess she\'s right about that. Sorry about my venting.
