I am dealing with some neck and back pain again.  I have disk problems and had spent two years treating with a chiropractor.  I had a really hard time and it caused more depresssion--pain really affects my mood....... it's not really bad now.  But my mood is affected.  The pain is not just awful, but am noticing that it wakes me up at night and causing me not to want to get up and move around........ I'm not sure, but I think I was working out alittle too hard on the Curves machines and it might have flared it up.  It has been six months since I went to the chiropractor and I don't really want to go back because it is costly and I really don't think it was the right therapy for me.......I don't want to give up Curves, either.  So, I need a plan. (I need your support to get me motivated).  I think I will continue going to Curves, but will stay off the machines that could put stress on my back.  I will try to start doing some yoga to help with flexibility.  I don't know what I'm going to do about the mood problems.  I have really been doing pretty good and just am not used to these mood problems.  I just feel like the old times are back and they were filled with so much despair and hopelessness.  I'm looking for my faith--I know God doesn't leave me, but it's so hard to feel His presence when your in pain or depressed.........and you know one of things that I just hate when I feel like this is that so much of my energy has to go to doing things to feel better and I feel so self-absorbed.  Thanks for listening!

Cindy, consider motivation on it\'s way. If you haven\'t done so, please see your doctor today. You need some pain meds on board so you can sleep (and relax which will help things heal up faster). I\'ve found that ice generally works better than heat (or alternating ice and heat, ending with ice) for muscle pain because there are usually spasms involved and the ice settles that down. Your doctor can get you into physical therapy which is, IMHO, more effective than chiropractic anyway. The main thing is not to over-do it, but also to keep moving so you don\'t get stiff and deconditioned again. I\'m appending an exerpt from Psalm 139 here that was very comforting to me yestering -- the idea of God hemming me in and supporting me in my sadness and weakness of spirit. Get better fast!
Psalm 139:1-14 O LORD, you have searched me and known me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. 3 You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before a word is on my tongue, O LORD, you know it completely. 5 You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is so high that I cannot attain it. 7 Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning and settle at the farthest limits of the sea, 10 even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me fast. 11 If I say, \"Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light around me become night,\" 12 even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day, for darkness is as light to you. 13 For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother\'s womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well.

I am praying for you, your back and your mental well being Cindy... Im sorry you are experiencing these difficulties.., please be kind to yourself and just take it easy though... None of us are miracle workers, perfect wives, perfect mothers.., what we are is just women experiencing the ups and downs of life, and needing to look for the necessary help along the way.. Don\'t deny yourself that help out of a false sense of low worth... Hx

I am praying for your healing. I know that if you could get some rest you would feel better. Maybe you should see a Dr about some pain meds till you feel better. I like your plan for curves too. LYL Tonya

If you don\'t care for yourself, who will? That\'s not being self-absorbed. that\'s treating your \"temple\" like it\'s supposed to be treated. Prayers for your health and well-being!
