So I set out today to get caught up on housework and errands. I just now am totally drained and feeling depressed. Don't know if I did too much or what. I know I'm tired of not being able to get a handle on a schedule--I'm getting too sidetracked and then I pay for it later in feeling rushed and stressed. I know I have to have a change in my life. I mean I really have to change some things--but, why do old habits die so hard . I mean it is really hard to make changes and be more structured. I can't get things done when I'm just kinda going around in circles...anyway, this is ridiculous to feel this much stress. I think I see a connection to this rushing and stress and my hormones. Any helpful hints would be appreciated--or maybe volunteers to just come on over and take over the job for me (I promise I really don't want this--I want to be able to do these things that I used to not have the energy to do)Take care. Hope you all are doing well.Love,Cindy

Change is hard, even change that is good. I\'ve pretty much given up on a schedule -- at least one that is consistant day to day. Instead I\'m learning to take things as they come. I have a day-timer to keep track of appts and I try to keep in mind whatever seems important that day to accomplish and then I step out into my day trying to do it in an unhurried way. It doesn\'t seem that hurrying actually gets more work done, it just makes me tired and angry and resentful. I got the idea from John Ortberg\'s book \"The Life You\'ve Always Wanted,\" and it\'s helped tremendously. I wish I could stop over and give you a hand! Change will come when the pain of being stuck is greater than the fear of change itself -- then you will ask yourself, \"What took me so long?\" Meanwhile, it\'s great to have you back!
Since my breakdown almost 2 years ago. I HAVE to check in with myself before I begin a task to be sure I can do it.... I simply cant just plough on through the chores or whatever like I used to because I become overwhelmed, panicky and then fail.
I suppose my days of being an automaton are over and now I just have to do what I can and leave the rest or ask for help (not easy when you\'re used to being so capable). Like my wise neighbour says; I do a little and leave a lot.. I know its not very 21st century to not be a wonderwoman, but its where I am and I can no longer fight it, because the sense of failure was killing me.., I just have to accept it.
And.., do you know what?? No body hates me for being less able.. How about that?!
What they said. Mourn the multi-tasker you used to be and now just do what you can. Weeble hugs and mojo to you.
it is so hard to change even for the good smile..it\'s hard for everybody not just you..do what you can and leave the rest and don\'t worry about it...just take care of you and pamper yourself sweetie...the chores will always be there you can get to them one at a time...hope you get some energy love you terri
Take it easy on yourself, pick one or two things to do in the day, and let the rest go. I need to take my own advice sometimes. LYL TOnya
One thing I\'ve had to learn is how to ask for and accept help. I really had to search myself to figure out what I really need to do myself to be okay and what I can let someone else do. I also had to learn to be easier on myself. It is a challenge. I wish you all the best in finding a new way that works better for you. Remember, it takes two weeks for new habits to stick so after the two weeks it should be easier to keep up. Much love to you.
You know, you don\'t have to do it all in one day. Do just a bit and a bit more when you feel like it. I used to drive myself and now I stopped, I just stopped. Stress is a killer so remember to be good to yourself and treat yourself as you would a good friend. Take your own best advice and follow it. when I learned to do that it made my life so much better. There are times I fall back on bad habits but I try to remember that life really is too short to do this to myself. So dear person be gentler to yourself.
