I am realizing that I have got to get some control in my life. Structure doesn't really come natural to my personality type. But I can just get soooooo un-structured that it really causes stress in my life. And the thing is my life doesn't call for alot of structure--the kids are gone, I don't work....I don't want to make excuses but because of my health condition, in the past I just couldn't really plan ahead because I wouldn't know how I would feel. I AM doing better so now I don't really have excuses so I just HAVE to get some self-control and discipline. Like today I really just want to just stay on this site, do some reading, watch a movie. But I have some things that need to get done in the house and I HAVE to start walking again. Because I always have had to deal with a certain amount of fatigue, things just always get done slowly. Then when I do feel like working, I do too much, so of course, it's hard to want to return to that pace of work. So I need to have limits on how much I work. I NEED BALANCE....I don't have it. That's hard to admit...... So I need to figure out what I will do today. I guess that's the real issue-plan the day(I know at this point-if you are still reading this you have definitely decided that I MIGHT be graduating kindergarten in a few weeks or so)........take care---hope you all have a beautiful day and a beautiful weekend.

you should do what another friend of mine is doing here. She makes her self do things to earn her time on DS. Like laundry or what ever needs to be done. Just a thought. Im stuck in the bed and of course, Id rather not be. I am happy to hear you are feeling better though!

I used to be extremely structured but my excellent organizational skills were permanently deleted, scanned & defraged.
I make TO DO lists for that day either listing one or two big jobs that will wear me out or I write down what I need to do in each room. I get more done because I can\'t forget what I\'ve written down.
If I get too tired, instead of pushing on & frustrating myself, I stop everything & rest before it\'s too late & I have no more energy left.
I try to get as done as I can in the morning, then I take the rest of the day off. I take weekends off to do whatever I want or if I feel like it, get some things done.
If you have any ideas, please let me know.
I also like peaceful storm\'s idea.

I think chronic health conditions make structure more difficult for the reasons you mentioned -- it\'s as if your body has control of your life and not you. I\'ve had some real struggles with this, especiallly since my son went off to school six years ago. I\'m working with an organizer right now to get the mess in my house cleaned up and one thing she did is suggest that I take just one small area and take care of that. Even if I\'m not to the point where I can find \"homes\" for the stuff I\'m keeping, I can at least clear out the stuff that I don\'t want/need anymore. It\'s so rewarding when I say, \"I\'m going to clean and organze this corner of the garage\" and actually accomplish it vs. when I say I\'m going to clean the whole garage and give up an hour later because I\'m lost. I\'ve also found outside committments to be a big help. I\'m going to school right now, but before that I made committments to volunteer one day per week (for 2 hours) at the local library and one day per week (3 hours) at a local helping ministry. Plus, big self-esteem boost because I\'m doing something for someone else! I don\'t know if that helps or not. I think these things work for me because they give me specific goals and times and places to be, but they also have built in limits so I don\'t knock myself out either physically or emotionally. Sorry this is such a long answer, but I reallly identify with your situation! Have a wonderful weekened.

take it easy. Make a list the night before and decide what you wanr to do. This way you will feel some accomplishment and completing each task. Whatever youdon\'t get to, stick it onthe next day.

I understand so much about fatigue and only being able to do work in short spurts. I still need a daily nap to get through the day, but I follow the advice given in taking things in 15 minute intervals. I work on something, one thing, for 15 minutes, then I stop. If I feel like it, later in the day, I may do another 15 minutes , until the one job is done, then I can go onto something else.. I did this when My husband left and within two weeks, I had the tiny little trailer that I live in now organized and know where everything is. It is now decorated with things that I like to see. It made me feel ownership in my home and helped me separate from him. You are such a dear person, always offering help and support to others. I pray that you had a better day today.. Kimmee
