Changes
Changes are always happening in life.....
Sonnie (the troubled younger brother who lives with us) flew out to the Philippines this morning. He was gone before Jeff and I got up. He asked Jeff last night if he could get a ride to the airport so Jeff got up early only to find him already gone. We assumed he took the bus. He didn't say goodbye or any kind of departure talk with us. But I guess he wouldn't because I'm the evil sister. He didn't even leave his key to the house. I don't know what to expect when (if) he returns 3 weeks from now. I gave him the speech the other day of "Please don't repeat our parents mistakes" by marrying a non US citizen and causing hell for your marriage and future children. Especially after he has been so bitter toward mom for what it did to the family. It would be hypocritical of him to turn right around and do the vary thing he's been so angry about. People are funny that way... they are so mad at their parents and then they end up becoming replicas, repeating history all over again, and passing down the mistakes oer and over.
From now on, he will be on his own.... we will not be sheltering him, feeding him, giving our cars to borrow, etc etc..... big changes for him.
Mom made friends with this lady who is going through big changes in her life. She ran from an abusive marriage. I'm confused if this guy is dead or alive. I will have to clear it up. Anyways... we found out she was homeless in a tent on a church ranch working their fields. She has been getting flooded out from all the rain lately. Jeff and mom convinced me to let her rent in our guest room for a couple of months, especially since we will now lack some rent from Sonnie. I caved and helped the lady move in today.
I have been sick with a cold for several days now.... sore throat, fatigue, congestion, coughing.... haven't gone to the doc. I keep thinking it will just go away.
We plan on getting back to working on the house, the down stairs to be exact. We figured it will take about 2 months to do (probably more, but let's hope not). I will have to talk to the Va and a realtor about going about selling a house that's under water. God help me get through this.
I feel positive about many things.... I feel positive that the house will look good....I feel positive that the house will sell.... Jeff has doubts and sometimes it brings me down. But I will have faith for the both of us. Big changes coming up for us.

My mother used to ask me to learn from her mistakes. Not sure why we can\'t do that, but it seems we usually can\'t - we somehow thing we\'re going to do the same thing and have it turn out differently.
I hope all the things you have going on work out the way you need them to. You have a lot on your plate right now. Take time time for you and don\'t push too hard.
It sounds like you have a lot going on. I am a creature of habit, so changing anything most always takes some time for me. The changes we can anticipate are helpful for preparation, compared to the changes that are sprung upon us. So, one day at a time, plan for what you can, and try not to stress over what may be, because maybe there will be more change :)
It sounds like some tough love for your brother is coming. Prayers for that to go well for each of you.
Positive thinking gets positive results!! My mom taught me that when I was a child and it has always stuck with me. I tend to be positive and I love being around others that have a positive attitude ~ Hugs!
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
hank you for the positive support and prayers... I really appreciate it. I am trying to take it one day at a time. IT\'s hard to do when there is so much to do. But i\'m trying not to get ahead of myself so I don\'t get over whelmed.
God bless!
Good luck selling the house and everything else you have going on at this time. Seems life is like that overwhelms us at times but we have to stop and smell the roses. Take time to enjoy the little things in life and not worry if something doesnt get done right now.
I hope things turn out best for your brother, its hard to have a family member always upsetting the cart in the family. I went through that with my oldest sister and thats when my fibro became major, stress. We can only do so much to help someone or worry about them, they have to be responsible for their own life. In my sister\'s case, ignore is the best I can say and dont get involved with her soap opera life.
Things wil turn out okay, just hard to see the sunshine with all the rain.
