I haven't been on much lately. I've been so busy with work and life that I haven't had much time to connect with my friends here. I hope everything is well with everyone and I hope that things calm down somewhat for me soon!

It seems that most of my journal entries have such a negative tone. I really don't like being so negative, but it feels good to get all the feelings out sometimes. Why can't I just be happy?

I'm going with my husband this weekend to the mountains. We're leaving our son with his aunt for the night on Saturday. I'm excited to get away and hope that we can go out since I haven't been able to really do that in quite some time. He has an awards banquet to attend on Saturday night that I get to go to. He's been nominated for backcountry ski patrol candidate of the year. That's quite an honor, considering this is his first year doing this. I'm a little nervous leaving my son because he hasn't been away from me all that much since he was born. That's the greatest disadvantage to having all of your family far away, I think. We don't have that much opportunity for alone time together.

In a few weeks we're going to Monterey, CA and taking our son to the aquarium there. I think he'll really enjoy it there. He keeps sayign that he doesn't want to go, but I know when we get there, it will be a struggle to leave! I'll just have to tell him that we'll go swimming in the pool at the hotel (I think it's heated). That'll get him away!
