Why do men have to be so frustrating at times! Oh my gosh! Last night I had an argument with my husband over our house and all the work that needs to be done that hasn't. I go to bed early most nights because I'm just flat-out exhausted. Last night I was getting our son to sleep and he came in the room and asked if I was going to go to sleep early, like I do every night. He then said that if I woke him up this moring asking to help get the baby ready for school, he would throw something at me. I looked at him point blank and asked if he was threatening me. He didn't respond to that, but said that all the housework just isn't getting done and he's tired of having to do everything himself (uh, excuse me?). He said that he was going to bed and not locking the door or turning off any lights, etc. Then he reminded me that the dishwasher needed to be unloaded and laundry needed to be folded and put away, not to mention that the floors need vacuuming and bathroom floor needs cleaning. He gave me 2 options: either I take care of it all, or I hire someone to come in and clean the house. then he went upstairs to our room and shut the door. I was so upset. I got the baby to sleep, then went downstairs and watched Grey's Anatomy (it was good, but not as good as I expected - glad that Meredith didn't die!) I also folded the laundry that was sitting in the basket waiting for folding.
Why does he do this to me! I feel so overwhelmed that I just can't keep up with it all! Mother, wife, housekeeper, full-time job that I'm away almost 11 hours a day from, cook, cleaner. It's simply too much. What does he do? He works, has a very important job that is very demanding (have to give him credit), snowboards, rides his bike when he's not in the mountains. Does he clean? Rarely (can't say never because he is able and does so occasionally but doesn't want to). sometimes he'll pick up dinner if I don't want to cook. Sorry for the rant, but I feel better now after getting it out. And still, I love him. but i'm just so damn frustrated!

You absolutely should not have to do everything yourself, you WORK FULL TIME. Hello, taking care of a house is another full time job in itself, including having children, which is another full time job, so basically you are working three full time jobs. I don\'t care how important his job is, or how much more money he makes compared to what you make, that is not the point. I don\'t care if he makes a million dollars a year, he still has responsibilities at home to split the housework with you 50/50. I don\'t care how freakin \"important\" his job is, that does not matter. He OWES it to you to help you out. And if he doesn\'t you should go to counseling if that is what he needs to get it through his THICK head. (he sounds like my husband that is why I sound so mad here) This is not fair at all to you. You work twice as hard as he does. Don\'t beat yourself up if you can\'t be superwoman. Please, just keep trying to nicely explain that you are not superwoman and maybe he will get the point, but if he is like most men, he probably won\'t ever understand.
Okay, I have to say that I\'ve never been in your shoes on this one...But good greif!!! elisha is right, NONE of us can be Superwoman or Wonderwoman or the Pink Power Ranger (hehe) for that matter!
I\'m a total neat freak, and my house looks like %*$#...There came a point about 6 months ago where I just had to let it go...I was making myself crazy.
That\'s the one thing about being a stay at home mom, or a working mom-whatever...We do have full time jobs. Like you said-if we were in the workforce, how many jobs titles would we have (just from the work we all do at home)?
1.Full time nanny
2.Full time cook
3.Full time cleaning lady
4.Full time teacher
5.24 hour laundry service...
I\'m going to stop before I start considering hiring a cleaning lady or a nanny!:)
The point is, just like elisha said, no matter what our hubby\'s do, we cannot do everthing. We can\'t give up sleep until they turn 18! And even then...;)
It\'s good that you got it out. We can\'t keep stuff like that bottled up or we just POP!
Maybe if you could calmly tell him how you feel, without turning it into a comparison battle, it might help him see where you are coming from...But like I said, I\'ve never been in this position, but it would make me furious if my hubby did that!
As always, my thoughts and prayers are with you sweetheart. And you are wonderful just the way you are (in my humble opinion:) Good Luck!
