I took my 2 year old to the dentist today for his first check up. i have been preparing him for weeks about the visit to the dentist. At first he was a little anxious (hmmm, wonder where he gets that from?) and wanted to go back home. Then when we got back to the chair, the assistant got a video and put it on. That helped to relax him. He sat in the chair in my lap. I told him that it is a special chair and it is kind of like a recliner. He relaxed a bit more. The dentist started doing my cleaning and she was explaining it the whole time. He would look at what she was doing then back at the TV. She was showing him the tool that squirts water and asked him if he wanted to squirt mommy - thankfully he didn't but he opened his mouth and let her squirt some in his mouth. I am so proud of him for being so brave today. :) Today, I feel surprisingly good and happy. It's a gorgeous day outside (sorry to all of you stuck in the northeast blizzard) and is nearly 70 degrees. I'll take what I can get of this sun and warmth. Too bad I'm stuck inside at work today. I think tomorrow is supposed to be another beautiful day. Hope everyone else is having a positive day!
