43 days

It's been 43 days since I gambled.  I know I will get through Lent as I have before, but I am very worried about after Easter.  Besides everything else, I simply can't afford to gamble anymore.  My credit cards are high, my cash is low.....I guess I just have to take one day at a time...and pray!

Bernie, congratulations and thank you for your honesty. I know you have said you have quit for lent before, so you thought you could get through it. It is good that you are thinking ahead for after Easter has come and gone. You have been doing alot to fight this, harder I think than you have in past lenten seasons. Use this extra work to give yourself strength to set a new goal - Memorial weekend, maybe? I think it is wise to be on the look out for what you might be feeling once Easter comes. I believe you can stay strong and stay away. I have faith in you!!! But you are right, it is one day at a time!

Dear Bernie,
You are doing just so excellent,
43 days and counting,
You know what the alternative brings;
such misery and pain and think about
how those credit cards are starting to look better
with each day that you do not gamble.
It feels so good after so long to see those bills dwindle away.
I say dwindle because it is amazing how fast and easy the money goes
out but how slowly and painfully hard it is to get back and pay off gambling debt.
I never want to be short of cash again as long as I live.
I have never since a young girl had difficulty buying anything and with gambling it took away so much of my freedom to do what I wanted to do.
I keep those thoughts in my head daily of scratching to make payments and
worrying about overdrafts.
It was all made possible at the c -- - -- - so as to get me to give them more.
they care not one teeny tiny little bit as to whether we live or suffer for the rest of our lives.
Do something for yourself and in the future just keep staying strong and busy.
The old habits die hard but they need to die for a reason.
Gambling is not living.
You will remember these Easter and Lenten days and they will give you
strength and motivation to want to continue on the right path as you are.
God Bless you at Easter and
always and forever
with a most cherished and good life
without any gambling thoughts or activities.
