I have a new journal. It's a Christian Journal. Each day has a new scripture to reflect on, and a space to write my thoughts about that scripture. So far, all I can write are small prayers for the Lord to transform me into someone more like Him. It's funny how far we sometimes think we have come. Then, when we start to meditate on His word, how humbling it is to see how far we have to go. But I thank Him daily for the growth that I have had. I look back a year ago and have to laugh at myself and my immaturaty, okay, so maybe I cringe and beg for forgiveness! LOL!! I am so grateful that I still have so much to learn. What a blessing that the Lord is never boring!
In church, we are studying the book of Acts. I have to say this is one of my favorite books. In this book, the church was introduced, as well as the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues! It makes me so excited! I pray daily for God to light the fire in my heart again. These last couple of months, I have really pulled away from my ministry. Pulled away from Him. Just sat idle. I have to say that I am ashamed of myself. Don't get me wrong, I still prayed, and witnessed, and professed His Word. But, I myself, was empty. Just a shell. Now, here I am, being filled again! He is so gracious!
It has always been so easy for me to pray for others, but to pray for myself seems to be a selfish act. I know that God has His hand on my life. I know that He is taking care of me. I know that He has a plan for me. I have never questioned His protection, His love, His mercy, His forgiveness, His grace, His strength. . . I just know. . . it's there. So, I don't pray for me. I pray for others. I pray for you. I pray for family. I pray for friends, I pray for strangers. I even pray for animals!!!
So, I don't really know where this is going, I guess I'm just rambling. But I do know, that I want to KNOW His Word. I want to LIVE His Word, I want to FEEL His Word. I've always contieplated the question, "If you were taken to jail for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?" If there wasn't. . .How would I feel? And If there was, and I was put to death. . .would it be worth it? OH YES. . . IN THE NAME OF JESUS. . .YES.
God bless you all

oh...what a question....
wonderful journal entry. The last questions are deep. To be put to death for being a christian. HMMM If it was quick. LOL. Hey, but seriously, we have already passed through death into life.
Also, Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not a one time experiance but we are told to be continualy being filled. We do not always feel spiritual and those are the times to cling to faith. Those are the times we grow in faith.
Bless you back.
I will always pray for you sheri. I want the same things as you do sheri, Thanks to you I have got a good start. I think I would be doing much better if I could be part of a bible study. I need to stop procrastinating and get it all together. love you lots kim
I think you wrote this just for me! I love your honesty and I think we all have felt this way. there is a song I love that says, \"I thank him for the mountains and I thank him for the valleys\" The chorus says, Through it all I\'ve learned to trust in Jesus I\'ve learned to trust in God, through it all, through it all I \'ve learned to depend upon his word!
That is wonderful! I have dealt with a little of the same and our pastor is in Revelation. Was painfully reminded last Sunday that I had left my first love...the excitement of getting into God\'s word and spending time in prayer... it has become a chore and horrible that is. That first love is so wonderful and with Jesus it\'s just everything!!! Thank you for a wonderflly inspired journal! (((HUGS)))

I get excited when I read the word and have a desire read more seach the scriptures and continues to allow GOD to fill to the brim with his spirit. He is so wonderously awesome.
