Life and Death in our tonguesJames 3:5-6,9-12Even so, the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles. And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. Te tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in hte sililtude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? How many times have you been hurt by what someone has said about you or to you? I know I've been hurt many times, sometimes many by simple things. And sometimes words that cut like a knife. Sometimes lies. And even sometimes truth. The point is, when we are "Christians," we are not to talk about eachother at all, or talk badly to one another. But what I've seen on here over the last few months from "Christians" is absolutely astonishing. I can't believe some of the things I have seen come out of their mouths.I'm just worried about what we are showing those we are suposed to be reaching? What are we showing the babes in Christ? If I were considering a relationship with Christ and I read some of what these "so-called Christians" were saying to eachother , or anyone for that matter, I'm afraid I would take my chances in the world! We claim to be full of love, peace, unity, understanding, truth and compassion. I gotta tell, I'm not seeing it coming from some of us. Where are our fruit? Are they bitter? Are they bitter? Are they bitter and full of worms? Maybe they are not yet ripe and need some fertilizer. Well, the fertilizer is the Word of God people. . .read it, live it and grow! And if your fruit is spoiled. . .cut it off and start over!Think about the words that come out of your mouth. Think about what it will do to the person they are for, think about what it will do the those who read it. Is it edifiying? will it bring LIFE? or is it an attack?, out to murder? And the most important question of all:How will Christ see it?

Hi I really needed this today a woman in my MS Group was very confrontational and I stayed as cool as I could. But inside I was so angry. I pray God is not mad at me for thinking bad of this lady.
Love ya Sheire you alway know what to say your are truly gifted.
How will Christ see it? He who viwed the world through bloodied eyes as people sneered at him, who saw his mother crying. Who saw allof us.
Yesterday I read \"Behold the Lambof God, which taketh awqay th sins of the world\"John 1:29
I have been lied about, messages have been altered, attempts to discredit me as a personand and a Christian..with that people with used and hurt and like negativity does so well it spread to infect many, people who claim to be of God. Bonnie says , when she stands before the Lord she wants to be forgiven and she won\'t be unless she forgives. I had seen on TV that forgiveness is a choice, choosing to be obedient to God whether or not we feel the other deserves it. I think things through, sometimes tomuch sometimes not enough ut I havebben thinking a lot about forgiveness and obedience and choices. John says the sins of the world, not just mine...I don\'t want to be a so-called Christian...the path I have to take in lai dout before me in the scriptures. Jesus died for the world, I can add compassion, understanding, truth allof those things. This was my obligation whenI accepted Christ...it\'s is now my passion as a Christian.
Thank you, Sherie, for helping me sum up my thoughts as you often do...my pebble:) I thank the Lord for the friends Ihave made here who helpme understand. Sherie, Kim, Kim, Bonnie, Mary,NTK, Kat, Rach, Heather, Goose and others who no matter their beleifs have remained consistent and true to theirselves...beacons of light in their own way. Somany others, new friends quiet friends who do live up to the highest of ideals. It is so easy to get lost and think there are no good men left....but there are plenty and we are strong!!
AMEN!! I\'ve been thinking about the same thing lately...the language on Christian\'s journals just baffles me! I\'m not perfect and can\'t say a bad word has never passed these lips...but my goal is to PRACTICE living like Jesus Christ. We won\'t be perfect on this earth...but we are working toward that final goal and need to do all that we can... and wow!! once we get the Lord involved it\'s amazing what we learn about ourselves and the junk that He will remove!! Thanks for a great journal!! Love you!
Sherrie, I don\'t know what all this is about but it is a great message. I have been dealing with it a lot lately. sometimes I feel like all my words are spilled out and not thought upon. Whatsoever things are true, pure, honest, just, of a good report...Yes we are to think on these things. It gets difficult in a busy selfish world were people want attention, pity, love. I need a roll of duct tape most days for my mouth. Other days I need handcuffs so I cant type them. Soooooo enjoyed talking to you, call me again sometime.
