Had my neuro appointment today. All of my tests came back negative for MS, although I do have a curious lesion. She wants to take a brain scan, so thats where I am there. She is not positive if I have epilepsy. . .hmmm, why not?? She can't answer that. But still wants me to stay on Depakote "just in case." She is testing me for Sjogren's Syndrom, guess I will have to do more research *sigh* and checking my b12 levels. My next appointment is in 2 months. She was going to end it at "you don't have MS" but I told her that I wanted answers, that I wasn't happy with that dx. She said there was nothing else she could do for me, and to go back to my regular doctor, I told her I have been sick for a year and I want to know why. She did say she's pretty positive I have sjogrens, but honestly, I don't think she knows or cares. Anyway, my mind is mush right now. I need to go.

Is a brain scan different from an MRI? If so, how so? I hope they get to the bottom of what is wrong, so they can help you....
I have Sjogren\'s Syndrome w borderline lupus, sis. My doc confirmed by my symptoms and positive SSA, SSB blood markers. There are books and websites to help you research especially if you are stressed moreso by your docs nonchalant attitude. Sjogren\'s and lupus are both autoimmune conditions in which the body\'s immune system attacks itself. I have Salagen Rx which helps me. If she insists on Sjogren\'s consider going to a rheumatlogist AND maybe too get a more professional doctor. You desrve so much better sis! Our prayers are with you Sherie! God is definitely watching over you!!

Hi S, Well you got at least one answer that Doc STINKS!! How do you feel about this do you think PCP or Neuro is the one you need to see?
How does she just throw out this other DX. Nice of her. Find a PCP since they are easier to get into and listen to SPIRITED and post questions usually OUR FRIENDS HERE help us. I saw they have a community here w/39 members. Love ya! You will be okay WE ARE HERE 4 YA!
ah so very sorry for your horrid experience..it takes so much of our energy to fight back with dr.s we just want them to help us like what we are paying them to do.

might i suggest..... that you ask your primary dr. to refer you to a epilepitic neuro... it is a neuro that specializes in nothing other than epilepsy... of all the dx above i would be most concerned with that one and finding out if you do or do not have that... if you do than get that one addressed first and formost ...then go from there... but i cannot stress how important it is for you to solve wether or not you are actually having seziures...there are tests that can be run as well as the ep neuro taking a medical history... if you are not having seziures you need to get off the medication.. if you are having seziures than you need a ep neuro who will monitor you properly and give a shit.. (pardon the laungue)... let her address the brain scan if you like but in the meantime please ask for a referal for a epileptic neuro....
