My sister in law drove me up to my neuro's office today so I could physically make an appointment. I have been waiting almost 6 weeks to hear from her, plus calling there for that long to make an appointment! Could never get through. . .would be on hold for about 25 minutes, thought if I heard just one more time "Our agents are all busy, the next available one will take your call"  I was going to send the phone flying through the wall! So, we get there, I go up to the front desk, and am told to use the "house" phone to make an appointment! They can't make appointments at the desk.  So. . .I get on the phone (again) and wait for about 20 minutes, and heard the same recording over and over and over again!!! Still didn't get through!!!Well, my sister in law takes the number from me, (she see's i'm about to have an anxiety attack) and goes home and calls. . .I'd say about 40 minutes later she calls me with an appointment. Thank you Lord!!!  I can't get in until September 30, but at least I have a date. I will be getting my test results back from my emg, eeg and LP. I'm a little anxious to find anything out, I would think that if something was wrong, my neuro would've called me with the results. . .??? Well, you'd think. She couldn't even call to set up an appointment. These are the last days on Prednisone. . .1 each day until thurs. I'm feeling a little down, a little impatient, a little argumentive, a little exhausted, and still a little sore in some spots. Is this normal? What do I have to expect afterward?? I've heard some not so great things. . .Just wanted to share where I was today with you all, let you know I'm okay and I've been praying for you all. I so appreciate all of your prayers and best wishes, your messages are most welcome and very touching to my heart. . . thank you.

Well, the good news is, that doctor must be very busy, which could mean very good. Sept 30 is not that far off. May I suggest you have everything written down, clearly, concisely, and in order of importance, a copy for him to keep. And, of course get there early because you will probably have to do some paperwork. Also, if I might add, bring something,,, knitting, a book, (not an ipod, because you will not be able to hear them call your name), anything to help you relax and not be impatient during the wait. ...maybe your bible or study book. :o) And please do not schedule something for anytime soon after the appointment, not dinner or anything! You probably know all that, already, but I figured I\'d say it anyway, just in case. :o) Good luck!

How kind your SIL is to help ease your anxiety.I was on & off prednisone for 10 yrs,& the letdown when you start to taper off can be hard.I cried, argued, etc. It was important for me to do some form of mild exercise.Seemed to chase the blues away. The big plus was that I began losing weight. My heating pad came in handy too.I will be praying for you.Have a good nite & a lovely tomorrow.

PREDNISONE...MY DRUG FROM HELL.

THANK THE GOOD LORD MY DR AND ONE OF HIS DR BUDDIES EXPLAINED TO JIM IT\'S CALLED....\'ROID-RAGE\' YES THERE IS A NAME FOR IT.
SHERIE I SWEAR...I AM OUT OF MY BODY, LIKE I CAN HEAR MYSELF SCREAMING MEAN THINGS AND JUST CAN\'T STOP IT...I\'VE EITHER CLEANING LIKE A FEIND..OR CURLED UP IN BED SOBBING.............I HATE THAT DRUG.
GLAD YOUR GETTING OFF OF IT SOON.
I DON\'T LIKE THE \'ME I AM ON IT\'\'\' NEITHER DOESN HUBBY:)

I am happy to see your sister got you in to your neuro. They say no news is good news so think positive!! I can\'t get into mine until Oct.8th I think. I hope each day you feel better with those yucky steroids. I know they tore me up as well but did seem to settle down some things but still not sure it was worth it in the long run. Hope yours is though!! Take care of yourself!!

You have been much more patient than I could have been in the same situation. This is quite commendable. Hang in there! The doctor could at least have dictated a letter to you with the results (if not called you). I\'ve always gotten test results (sometimes it may take a week or so) by phone or mail if not an appt. As the old saying goes, though, \"No News is Good News\"! May your news (results) be very good!
