Thoughts
Today I found out that my dog is not in the best of health. I know that he is old and soon will leave me. He is a wonderful boy who is with me no matter what. As we get old slowly our friends and companions leave us. That is life. I do not think about these things when we were young. Sometime we forget things that really matters and we worry about thing that are not important. We do remember them but sometime too late..

You are so right. I never thought about things like this when I was younger. I used to take family reunions for granted and often didn\'t want to go. Now I would give anything to go back to those \"good ole days.\" Most of my older family members are in Heaven now. Do you think you\'ll get another pet eventually? Our pets are such wonderful companions.
I do not know.They are most of the time our life line. They love you so much that there loss is heart breaking. I do not know whether I will get another one or not. I am also getting old. Life without them is unthinkable.
I\'m so sorry that you are experiencing the illness of your dog. Many years ago, when my two precious dogs were nearing their final years, I made it a point to spend as much time as possible with them. Both of them went on walks with me just a couple of days before their end. I can assure you that to this day, I am so thankful I made the time to spend with them.
I\'m sure your dog has been your best friend for a very long time. So spend as much time with him as you can...and certainly shower him with all of the love you have. It\'s something you will cherish when he is gone.
Don\'t rush into getting a new pet too soon. But don\'t deny yourself of giving a new dog a loving home when the time is right for you. If you are concerned that you may not be able to handle a puppy, there are always great older dogs looking for a good home.
I\'m thinking of you as you walk this path with your dog. Enjoy the time with him and celebrate all of teh great time you have shared together.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. He is a beautiful dog with full of love. You are right lot of older dogs need a loving home. My worry is if something happens to me who will take care of him. A dog is child who never grows up. They love you so much that just thought of your baby in neglect is painful. Their love is something we can never pay back.
I am sure you miss your friends very much, They will be always in your heart. Only a person who has or had pet and loved them will understand this pain, like you.
