Hi Everyone!
My Mom got out of the Hospital yesterday. I wish they had kept her another day, as she was up throwing up all night the night before! She was so weak she needed help dressing, but yes, they kicked her out. The doc thought she was fine to leave. I told them I hoped she was fine to leave, because if she wasn't, they would be receiving communication from my attorney!
I hate the way the insurance companies insist that people are kicked out of hospital beds if they are barely breathing (or so it seems to me!) Back in the olden days, before the insurance companies took control of healthcare, people were actually admitted to hospitals for "rest" at times!!! The financial powers now dictate who can be kicked out and when....what procedures can be done, and what not done. Meanwhile, insurance company profits continue to soar...
Do I sound bitter? I hate to sound like one of those sue-happy people but I am just worried about my Mom I guess. Something needs to be done to change healthcare in this country!!!!!!
I realize more and more that my Mom will not be with me forever....and I can hardly stand thinking about it. I dont know how I will endure her passing when it comes! All I can do is try to appreciate her while I can and remember that when I am feeling annoyed at something she might do or say . (sigh)
I sent her roses, gave her a card and a little angel figurine music box for Mother's Day. She is so happy with anything I ever give her, and even gets teary over cards I send. I love her so much.
Hope you are all enjoying time with your moms this weekend, and Happy Mother's day to all of you that are moms!
