Whew!!!!Worked hard today.....Today was my day off, and I went and applied for a small apartment....probably half the space I've grown accustomed to.....I don't really want to leave the nice, roomy house I've been living in for the last 5 yrs....but I can save a lot of money by moving. Saving money on housing means I can have more money to pay off debts, and live life without being so stressed all the time...I might even cut my hours at work sometime down the line! (Love that thought....woo hooo!!!)The apartment is only a half a mile from my main office, and a half a mile from my gym.I could walk!!! or even ride my bike.....I can go home for lunch.....(save money, eat healthier, get some rest or do something fun and relaxing)Guess what....less space to clean! There is a pool and sauna right next to my building.....can take a dip after work in the hot Fresno summer....Don't have to worry about maintaining the yard....It is motivation to let go of "baggage" I've dragged from place to place for years...It means breaking out of inertia and actively doing things to make my life better.... and that feels great! I spent about 5 hrs out in the garage this afternoon sorting stuff into l. Take to the new place2. Throw away3. Sell/ donate4. Put into storage Amazingly...the sell/donate pile is winning....LOL (big progress for me!)I can get a sentimental attachment to stuff so easily.... I feel just great about the effort and what I got accomplished...but I have to say I am really T I R E D right now .....bf is coming to the rescue bringing my fav takeout chinese... Making this move is really taking me out of my comfort zone....but I am feeling very strong about this just now....doing something that is kind of hard (I truly do hate moving!!!) that will help me in the long run.....in exchange for giving up something I don't really feel I need to be happy any more....I would rather live in a small space with little stress than a big place with stress to match! Thanks to everyone for continuing to share your lives with me, and for being such an important part of mine. Without you, I don't know where I would be right now....almost certainly continuing to destroy myself with gambling. Love you beautiful people.....Big smooches!!!! xoxoxoxo, Dianne

Well done you and yes i so agree, the people on here are so amazing!
Wow Dianne, what a huge brave move for you. I also hate moving, hence the fact that I have been in the same \"rut\" for 18 years now. lol. It sounds like you are truly ready for new adventures, and that is good. Being able to walk or ride to work and the gym sounds wonderful. Get some rest and enjoy that Chinese takeout.
Big move, and not just physically. Sometimes we just have to leave the \"old\" behind and start fresh somewhere else. It seems as though you have thought this through very carefully and seems like it is a wise decision... why am I surprised...I\'m not.. you always make good decisions. I recieved an email today that was about giving up the fancy..big. etc.. if I can find a way to send it to you , I will. Best wishes.
That is so cool... making big, positive changes means gaining big rewards down the road.
Good work!
Dianne, your enthusiasm and joy are overflowing from your post! I can relate to sentimental ties... I have lived in this house for 17 years and have things in a side room that have sat in that room untouched for 17 years! You sound so joyful. Thanks for spreading and sharing it with us. You are an encouragement to me!!!
Wow! Fantastic, absolutely fantastic! What a great idea, and congrats on taking the plunge and going ahead and doing it. I really think that this will help you de-stress and feel more positive about your progess in bringing down your debt. I am so happy for you Dianne, what a wonderful Christmas gift to yourself.
Love, Julie
Dianne this is a wonderful move for you -what a year it has been and full of personal growth - you should look back on it and be so proud. I am like you - keep everything but it is getting better - hubby throws everything away and so does my daughter - there needs to be a happy medium somewhere but when you don\'t have the space that is a good enough time to do it. I love your approach and would love to be with you while you are doing it - seeing the memories and getting to know you more.
Hugs and love to you as you make your choices. Suzi
I agree with everyone, maybe change will be just what you need. Less stress sounds wonderful!! You are doing so good and thinking so clearly, I am proud of you. Get a little rest for yourself.
Hugs

This sounds like a great move, especially if it will ease the load on you. De-cluttering our lives in more than one way, eh??
Enjoy & just for today..

I\'m so excited for you! What a huge but scary step. It sounds like this may be just the ticket. I have often thought about moving to an apartment since my husband died, but I owe to much on the house. I would lose my shirt. I\'m proud of you for taking the plunge. Peace and Love. Patty
Dianne, I think this move will be a plus for you...but I sure don\'t envy the moving and cleaning out lol. I learn something from you with every post. You have such a positive outlook on the move, and are making changes, and moving on from the gambling nightmare. Thanks for being here,
love and hugs to you
