Friday and feeling better with some rest. Still managing to be GF, but am plagued by temptation. If it wasn't for this site, I don't think I would have made it abstinent through the last week. Thanks to everyone who takes their time to read and especially to lend me support. You are helping to save my life one day at a time! Someone told me that compulsive gamblers either end up insane, in jail, or dead. The deeper I get in it, the more I believe this is true...I so appreciate this site. It has made so much difference for me at this point

Stay strong. I know you can do this. We will do it together. Fight those temptations. Keep your mind busy with other things. You do not want that feeling that gambling gives you anyhow - remember the lonely ashamed guilt... it is painful. Take one day at at time like you are doing. Stay here, and get the support you need. I certainly know how you are feeling and am fighting the temptations myself. We will not end up insane, in jail or dead!!! We will fight this!!!
Stay strong....I haven\'t gone a week at one time in years....am on day 3. This site is a life-saver for me too. When I get the smallest urge I now come in here and read and write. Takes the urge away and keeps me on the right road. It\'s so nice to be able to talk with people who understand this devil called gambling.
in the world of addiction, the definition of insanity is \'repeating the same actions over and over again, expecting a different result\'..in our case, gambling time after time, throwing our money away, expecting to walk away with a huge win.
You are making great progress, and just remember, the more you don\'t feed the addiction, the more it wants/needs to be fed....if it has no \'nourishment\', it gets weaker and you get stronger. We are all here for you, and for each other, it works both ways.
hugs
