You can try all you want- they will never change. I did everything I could, tried and tried, and then tried some more. I tried to be a good wife. I gave myself 100% to our marriage. He gave about .005% to it. So, how come I am the one who is sleeping on the couch? I anxiously await the day I get the very last of my things out of this house and I can walk away from this painful marriage. I'm excited about leaving, but depressed that I am stuck here for now.The thing is, he STILL doesn't get it. Everything is someone else's fault. Usually mine. I handed him his credit card back last night after he had me run up to Arby's for him. He didn't put it back in his wallet, and it got lost (we found it under his recliner). First thing he does is blame me. Accused his very own wife of STEALING it. Figures, huh? It's always been this way. Something goes wrong, I must have done it because he thinks I am out to get him. So much for the parnership of trust and love which I always believed were the cornerstones of marriage. I am not saying I haven't done anything wrong, but I can admit to that. He can't. He thinks that he is never at fault for anything, and that I have ruined EVERYTHING. He thinks he can just do whatever he wants (porn, checking out other women, beating me, calling me names, treating me like a slave) and that I have to just deal with it. He's in for a huge shocker when he comes home from work in a few weeks, and his slave/punching bag is gone. Did he SERIOUSLY think that I would put up with this for the rest of my life?!?!?!? I am better than this, and I deserve better!!! I am not going to be stuck in a loveless and abusive marriage until I die- either by him murdering me, or of natural causes. No thank you! I have a life to live, and happiness to find!!! I am not going to sit here any longer and let him do this to me. I have no feelings left for him at all. Believe me, I have TRIED to feel something for him, but there's nothing there. Years of abuse, and being lonely and scared will do that to a woman. I just can't wait to get it all over with!!!At this time next month, I will be sleeping peacefully. I will be moving on with my life, and improving myself overall. I will have my son by my side, and he's all that I need. I will rest easy, knowing that my (soon-to-be) ex-husband won't be teaching my 4-year-old son to beat women and to call his mother a whore. I can't wait to get out, I can't WAIT to breathe!!! No more heartache, no more beatings, no more name calling, no more of me taking the blame for HIS actions! YAY!!!!

I am soo happy for you! You will be sooo happy that day that you actually get out. You are very right that all you need is that little guy by your side and now he can grow up in a healthy environment. YAY for you!
This is what I love, \"I am better than this, and I deserve better!!!\"
That\'s your new mantra! Repeat that many times daily and BELIEVE its true, because Mel! It really really is!
*hugs your head again*
I\'m so happy you\'ve realized this for yourself, you deserve this new life!!
I\'m so happy for you girl...funny how all of this just rings a bell for me. It\'s amazing how a man can literally reduce you to NOTHING. I miss my husband, but I honestly don\'t miss having him here telling me how worthless I am and everythign that went wrong was always my fault because I couldn\'t do anything right and I was stupid and worthless, and how my boobs were all saggy and my bottom was hideious w/ stretch marks and surely no man would want me, but I shouldn\'t worry because he loved me even though Ilooked like this. I don\'t miss that at all. It will only get better girl when you are living on your own, maybe lonely, but oh so at peace.!!
