I already wrote a journal entry this morning, but I was visiting a friends journal on here and decided to weigh myself... First, I want to tell my friends on here that I have lost some weight, FINALLY! I did it by just taking baby steps. 7 weeks ago, I switched from regular soda to diet, from kool-aid to crystal light, and from french fries to fruit. My husband always wants to get fast-food everyday, and just because he was ordering it, I would too. I really don't like the stuff, but hey- it's there so I'll eat it. But, I cut out french fries. I began ordering fruit in place of the fries that come with the meal, and switching coke for diet coke. I have lost a TOTAL of 16.4 pounds so far, in just that little amount of time.I also was taught that I should finish all of my food as a child because I was extremely skinny and my parents worried that I wasn't getting enough nutrition (yah- thanks mom and dad! Look at what happened! JK!). So, out of habit, I would use the regular size dinner plates and I would fill up the plate, just lie my mom always did when she fed me. (How that woman is still so thin is beyond me!) I would then sit down and eat every last bite, even if it hurt to eat it. I would stuff myself full, not stopping until my plate was empty. So, here's what I did to fix it. I started using the salad plates, which are MUCH smaller. I fix myself a plate, filling it to where it looks like I have alot of food, only the plate is smaller, so not as much fits on it. Then, when I am ½ way finished, I get up. I go and do something else for about 15 minutes. Then I come back to it, but I don't want any more by then, and my belly feels full. Then I put my leftovers into a container and put them in the fridge. Today, I opened the fridge, and I noticed that there were ALOT of leftover meals. I'm not talking about what was left in the pots and pans when we were done eating- I'm talking about MY leftovers from my plates! All of that food! Normally, I would eat and eat until I had nothing left, but now I can see how much I was overeating! I thought I didn't eat much before because I wasn't going for second helpings. But I now see how much I have left over from a small plate! I also don't excercize for a few reasons- I'd like to, but I don't want to walk alone. I am so busy with Jonathan that I don't have time. And, I have bad knees from years of figure skating, cheerleading, and gymnastics. So, excercize is painful for me. But- I lost 16 pounds just by changing my eating habits! Diet soda was gross at first, but now I love it and regular soda is waaaaaay too sweet for me now. It almost makes me gag to drink it now.

Thats nearly a whole days worth of calories. Another one that shocked me was some of starbucks coffees.
