When all is done, I have Kitty Cat...Every day I have to take take care of Jonathan, clean the house, prepare meals, do laundry, and take care of everything around the house. I serve them dinner, sometimes not getting to eat until mine is cold. I do everything I can to keep them comfortable and happy, and almost never get a 'thank you' for any of it.And when I am worn out and think I can't possibly do any more, I go to bed. I close my eyes, and then here it comes. A bounce on the bed, and a sweet little 'meow'. I pet him for a minute, and then pretend like I am sleeping, hoping he will go away and just let me sleep. It never works. He knows better. He licks my nose. I flinch. Busted. I pet him a little more, and then pretend to sleep again, this time saying, "Go to sleep Kitty Cat!" Less than a minute later- he bites my arm. I flinch. Dang it! Busted again! I won't give in. I roll over and try to ignore him, praying he'll give up. He never does. My back facing him, he puts his chin and neck across my neck. He's warm and fuzzy, and I think about how cute he is. Then, I forget how cute he is because he nipped my ear- this time harder. "Ouch!" Rob, who is not yet sleeping, laughs. (He never bothers Rob at bedtime- Rob gets this when he gets home from work). I roll back over, grab him in my arms and hug and kiss him, and he purrs loudly. Then, he is satisfied. He falls over on the bed, and lays on his side with his head on my pillow. Every night, no matter what, there he is. We go through the same routine every single night. I take care of my family, and I had better not forget Kitty Cat! At least he purrs for me in a way that seems to say, "Thank you! I love you mommy!" Last night, as I went through the whole Kitty Cat routine, I realized something. When he was missing for 2 nights a few weeks ago, I missed him. I didn't have my Kitty Cat. He thinks I'm perfect. He thinks I am the greatest thing since tuna in a can. He loves me no matter what. He also knows I have thumbs and can open the container of lunch meat for him. He is my Kitty Cat. He cuddles next to me every evening while I watch t.v., and keeps me warm in the winter. Of course, he does get under my feet everytime I even go near the kitchen. He's spoiled and he knows that when I go in the kitchen, all he has to do is meow at the fridge door and I will give him a treat. He is addicted to vanilla ice cream! I love Kitty Cat.
