I am feeling good about myself this morning. I have been smoke free for more than 24 hours. I am going to go shopping with my mom today, and I look forward to it. I don't have any friends other than all of the people I have found on here. My mom and I are very close, and we are more like best friends than mother and daughter. I love that I have this kind of relationship with my mom. She and my dad have NEVER ONCE let me down. If they told me they were going to do something, they did it, no excuses. I live 5 streets from them, and my mom works just a mile away. Because I don't have my own car, my mom lets me use hers while she's at work. One time, I called her at work to ask her if she could bring me a package of hotdogs on her way home from work later that evening. Well, she took her lunch break and went to the store and brought them to me! She could have spent her break relaxing, but she wanted to make sure that I had what I needed. I try to be like her. I try to do the things that I know she would do when it comes to being a good mom.
My mom was abused by my father (whom we call "Dopey" -if you met him, you would too!). When I was 2, she moved from NC back to Ohio with my brother and I. She worked as a waitress at Denny's. This is where she met my dad. He treats her so well. They married when I was 6, but I began calling him "daddy" when I was about 4. I remember when I asked him if I can call him that, he cried and I didn't then understand tears of happiness. I've been "daddy's little girl" ever since! It is their relationship that gives me hope. My life seems to be almost repeating hers, and it gives me hope that if I leave my husband, I will find happiness. (it's just so hard to let go of him!)
Today will be a good day. I just know it. It always is when I spend it with my mom!
Oh, and my about my daddy- I think my son loves him more than he loves me sometimes! (JK!) They have such a wonderful relationship, and they have their own little games that they play with each other. (My dad says to Jonathan, "do you eat poopy?" Jonathan says, "eewwww! you eat poopy!" together they say,"Thats's disgusting!" that's just one of their games!) I love it that my son has this relationship with him. Watching them reminds me of my own childhood, and it's funny to see Jonathan acting just as I did when my dad would play the same kind of games with me! My dad is also the one who picked out my dresses when I was a little girl. My mom would try, but I always liked the ones he bought better! No offense mom! He bought me my first car, and he payed for me to move to Florida, just because I decided I hated the snow! (That's where I met my husband.) He spoils me, he's there for me, and he loves me. What more could I want?! He's great!
Well, I have to go get ready to head off with my mom!
