The life-saving truth of rape recovery--in two lines I'm going to trademark this statement. I blurted this out in a therapy session last month, and decided I really like it. It encompasses the two most difficult truths for a survivor to learn and accept, and the two most crucial truths that transform a victim into a survivor: This did not happen to you because you are bad, andYou are not bad because this happened to you.  It would sound trite to anyone who's not a survivor, but survivors know exactly what these two statements mean.
