Tomorrow I am going to see the endometriosis specialist in Philadelphia. I am really excited that my insurance decided to pay for me to see some one out of network. Even if he can't help, I have to try, he is a specialist. He does specialized surgeries and is supposed to be good at finding the endo. I only have a referral for a consult so if he wants to do anything else, I have to get another one and that might not be too easy. But if I see this guy and he can make suggestions to my gyn, then that may help also.Here is kind of the serious bad news. I have to go for an Epidural on Wednesday which means the same straps will be restraining me again. I told the doctor that if he is going to run it like last time then he is going to have to walk me through every step because I don't want to freak out again. Again, he promised me I would be asleep and he said he meant it this time. When I was in his office he asked me why my hands were shaking so much. Well, there a few reasons, they started shaking after I had my first stroke and never stopped. It just kind of varies in intensity. When I am in pain, it is worse and then I said, and you make me a little nervous. He asked, how could he make me nervous and I am thinking, well with what happened the last time with the nerve block, then you made me get and MRI. You ask me to do things that cause me anxiety. He took my hand and took my pulse and he said you have to relax your pulse is racing. I know, I can feel it.So, here is why I am getting the Epidural and he was so happy about it. When he saw my MRI results they showed that I have three bulging discs. Two are in the middle of my back and leaking fluid which I guess causes bad things. (I think my brain started shutting down.) Then the other is really low like near my tailbone. He thinks that it can be causing a percentage of me pain and wants to try this to see if he can get some relief. No guaruntees. I said yeah, but what about all my other pain. You mean to say that the pain on the right side and around my navel is false? And he said of course not, I have endometriosis and fibromyalgia of course I have pain. And the back thing would only be PART if the pain I have on the left side which has always been worse the the right. He started me on a new drug called Opana. Makes me sleepy, but seems to help my pain. My mom said that usually if a drug is helping the pain you are going to get sleepy because your body is tired from the pain and now it can rest.That is all the medical stuff. The fun stuff was my husband and I went to see Schrek and went out to dinner. It was nice because we don't really go see movies much. We actually intended on seeing Pirates, but it was sold out.Now you are all caught up on me.
