May 21st was my 6 month anniversary without smoking. Totally awesome. I'm so happy, now I need to start working on losing weight I was already overweight before I quit smoking, and put on an additional 25 pounds since. I stopped taking the chantix about the middle of March. I haven't used anything else. I know the side effects are hard with the chantix.

#1 people need to understand alot of the bad effects are withdrawal of the nicotine it's not all the fault of the pill.

#2 it is most important to eat a decent meal(not a piece of toast) before you swallow a pill.

#3 I also adjusted the dosage. I've read that some people need to adjust the dose. After the starter week you take a 1 mg twice a day. You may not tolerate 2 pills a day. Try 1 or 2 halfs if you do 1 have it in the early part of the day after a big meal. I cut back to 1 a day after about 5 weeks.

#4 The chantix pill doses you with a chemical to make cigarettes undesirable. I stayed away from smoke and did not smoke any cheats. When I smelled smoke it made me feel sick, if you get sick from being around cig. smoke then the pills are doing their job.

#5 you don't have to take them forever just 12 weeks for most people.

It is very much worth it, if you can get through a few months. It took a lot of years to get so insanely addicted to nicotine. Feel free to ask me questions and I will do my best to answer.

Good Luck and God Bless You Allsmiley-laughing.gif
