Have not had a very good few days. CFS and depression really bad. This happens every so often and know it will pass but it doesnt feel like that in the middle of it. I am so thankful for my recovery at these times, if I didnt have that I can't imagine what it would be like. I try my best to concentrate on helping others rather than focusing on myself. I am grateful for these sites on the internet as it allows me to connect to others and hopefully contribute something even when I can't get out of the house. One good thing happened yesterday in that I found out that Thich Nhat Hanh is coming to London in the summer and doing a talk. I have read several of his books on living a spiritual life and am excited to hear him speak. My home group in AA is closing next week which is really sad. We cant get enough people to commit to doing service at the meeting so we made the decision to close it. I dont think I will ever get completely used to the fact that things change. That is why I am happy to get chance to do things like hear Thich Nhat Hanh as he has so much to teach on things like this and I have so much to learn.

I am sorry to hear that your home group is closing. I am also grateful for the opportunities to help and get help (for me, anyway) on DS.
I am drawn to Buddhism and Zen mainly for it\'s teachings about the acceptance of impermanence. I\'m afraid that traditional religion and science never gave me answers that helped my life any...
I think leanring when to shift focus is a great thing. Otherwise we can become angry and despondant about our own lives. Instead of \"asking why\" maybe it is better to ask \" what can I do help others and learn from my circumstances.\" At least, that is a more positive mindset than demanding to know why...
I hope you can attend the Dharma Talk and enjoy it. When I\'ve been able to listen to zencast, it\'s really been helpful to me.
