Oh Boy.............
Well, had an appt with my rheumy this afternoon. I'm holding my own pretty much. The usual, my blood pressure is a bit low but nothing to panic over. My red blood cell count is also a bit down but that can be in keeping with lupus also. We watch these levels regularily. I did try & convince him that I wanted to try going off the wkly methetrexate injection (not telling him of course that I've been experimenting with already. He would not go for that at this time. I'm still mildly symptomatic on & off so thats that. But he is lowering my prednisone a bit. He feels I've been on my current dosage for quite a while now & he's more worried abt the long term affect of the prednisone more so then taking methetrexate.
Hubby has just started and 8 wk pulmonary rehab program. We go for 2 hrs every Tues & Thurs afternoon. He was so not sure & not too keen on it but after the 1st session Tues, well, it's going to be a truly wonderful thing for him. It's going to cover all kinds of things medically related to COPD plus diet, & he will be going into the gym at the facility for the physical aspect of living with the condition. He's feeling alot more open minded abt it now.
A bit of news - our oldest buddy cat Pepper is going to be put down on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. I spoke with the vet abt the results of the tests fr his yrly physical. Here's the scoop - he currently takes a potassium supplement twice a day but the amt needs to be increased. His thyroid is over active so we'd have to start him on thyroid meds & his throwing up is tied in with some intestinal imflammation (I think he said kind of similar to an IBS type of thing. All the yrs I've worked at the shelter I've seen tons & tons of cases with cats where the start to have things going chronically wrong & they are pumped full of drugs to keep them going with some kind of quality of life. We always vowed that we would never let that happen & bingo now we're in that exact spot. Major war going on between my head & my heart. The head is really accepting & acknowledging that thinking but the heart is way out in left field somewhere. OH MAN!!!!!
Well I guess thats abt it for today. I hope this finds all my dearest friends doing super well & I so appreciate having you all in my life.

Hi Kitty, watch those levels, good that you do it regularly. You\'re pretty intune with yourself I think. Good for hubby to commit and keep an open mind about the rehab program. So so sorry to hear about Pepper. I always think that if our furbabies quality of life isn\'t good then it\'s time. You know this for sure. We are just to attached to them, as family. Thinking of you, K.....this is a tough time. xxoo
