Life?????????

Well, where to begin.
Had a real interesting appt with my diabetes dr.  He showed me that I'm still showing anemia & that my hemoglobin although showing a 6.0 is probably really closer to around 7.5 or so.  The anemia is just monitored.  I could very well have what he called "Chronic Disease Anemia".  He explained that with lupus & related inflammation that the hemoglobin showing on blood tests could be off.  My weight is still down & although not too down he would like to see a bit more on me.
I now know that as one gets older Colonoscopys don't get easier.  I prepped for one on Thur & had it done Fri a.m.  WELL, did that ever throw the lupus for a wild ride.  I had two days from #)$#*)(@$&*.  I'm still more lupus red then white.  I guess the funny thing I could say is that it looks like quite an interesting splatter paint pattern all over me.  Things are starting to settle down again though so we'll be back in fighting form real soon.  The dr did take a few biopsies at this time but he feels everything seems to be fine.  I'm having two ultrasounds done on Wed a.m. of the whole digestive area.  I know he's thinking it's possibly gall bladder problems.  My mom had gall bladder problems & had hers removed.  So on this goes for a while yet anyway.  Oh yea, he now wants to do a gastroscopy at the end of Jan.  This could be depending on what the ultrasounds show.  I do feel good that he's being so thorough & really investigating everything.  I do have moments where I get down in the dumps.  As with lupus & all the strange turns it can take, it, well, just even gets the better of me at times.  Mentally weary is one description I can think of right now.
Hubby had his regular check up at the cancer clinic.  His PSA is down to 0.73 which is down from the last check up.  He did have another hormone treatment too.  I'm smiling as I type this in, thats OK I'm thinking.  We were both quite happy abt it & I pointed out to him that I feel the Lord has gifted us as maybe a way of thanking us for all the hard work we try to for him & that he also knows that he always still needs our help with some things.  So life is a blessing every day from this standpoint.
We took a few kitty supplies & 48 cans of food to a cat rescue near our place.  You know, when you see the enormous pleasure on her eyes when we brought the stuff in, well, it just makes you feel so darn happy.  All her kitties will have had some canned food for another day.  I'm such a sucker for them aren't I, LOL, but I can't help myself.  It feels so darn good.
I did two shoe boxes for Samaritans Purse & darn it feels good to buy all sorts of neat goodies for children in underprivileged countries around the world.  We also have paid for 6 Christmas dinners at our cities largest mission.  For me these things are a huge part of what makes a Christmas.  It just feels good.
I've fully come to believe that Christmas & lupus just will never get along.  I can't understand it totally but man oh man, well, what more can I say.
I wonder sometimes if I'm a bit off or strange cause when I look at the Christmas world around me & all that it seems to be, it makes me shake my head sometimes.  Does anyone else seem to notice that the key Christmas description in todays world is "material possessions".  I don't know, this was just a thought that seemed to pour out of me at this moment.
Well I guess thats abt it for now.  I so appreciate you all my dear friends & I so thank you for taking time out of busy days to check this out.  Looking forward to your thoughts & comments.

You\'ve inspired me to do a few more things this Christmas! Take food to the cat shelter, give more meals, etc. I did the shoebox online last week! That was fun and feels good. We adopted a family at work and raised $300 for a single mom and her 2 kids and bought all kinds of stuffs....Honestly, don\'t WANT anything for Christmas, want to GIVE now, more ya know!

Love and hugs girly girl.

Sorry to hear you have had such a rough time. It pains me to hear it : ( but it is uplifting to hear the news about hubby. : ) I agree with you about the Christmas sentiments. I am trying to hard this year to keep it focused on Christ and not packages and meeting others\' wild expectations ... I\'m trying to wrap it all around worship and hope in Christ\'s coming and in his faithfulness to his children. It is getting easier to do that this year, but the temptations are many ... sending up prayers for you right now. Hope you are feeling better and feeling blessed. Giant hugs ...
