This and That
I had just finished this entry & was abt to save & my DS shut down, so here I go all over again.
Things are not too bad most of the time. I had some lupus issues start mid day Sat & into Sunday but I've managed to get on top of it & things are settling down again. It really did reinforce that my health will no longer tolerate a faster paced life & days. I had several days where things were just on the go & it's just not going to work that way any more. It really drove it home & I'm trying to take a look at say the wk ahead & focusing on balancing all & anything that needs to be done or take place.
Our ove, the poor old girl(25 yrs old) has gone to appliance heaven. Happened in a funny way though. Hubby's son came over with some gizmo fr his work to out of the kindness of his heart check the oven thermometer so as he told his dad "Pat can have an oven to cook in & not worry abt the temp". It always run abt 50 to 75 degrees too high but I've been living with it & that was that. It's a built in one so they had to pull it partially out, take some pieces off the front & in the end discovered that there was no way for him to check the thermometer cause of the way this old oven was built. So upon proceeding to put everything back together the poor old girl just gave up. Hubby's son felt it was major his fault & felt he shd partially pay or buy us a new one. Anyone that knows me knows I can't take advantage of someone like that. It happened, it happened thats it. For the last yr we had been talking abt needing to start looking at new ones anyway. In the big picture of life I'm not going to get bent out of shape abt it. Maybe I'm strange because both hubby & me for some reason startetd thinking abt sister & brother in law & how they would truly take advantage of someone else's money like that. I just am not like that.
Anywho, I took some pics of some of my fav darlings at the cat shelter today just in case anyone ever feels like checking them out. It's hard when there's so many & of course to get them to sit still for a photo.
Well I'll sign off for now & know that I so appreciate reading your thoughts & comments.

I\'m glad that you are able to readjust your schedule to suit your own pace and feel good about it. I am happy to hear that you can find some balance and things are going pretty well. : ) I wouldn\'t have taken any money for the oven either. Most things don\'t last 25 years, so, I\'d just be glad it did LOL. I have a really old cooktop that was here when we moved in. It is a Jennair and I know whatever I replace it with won\'t work nearly as well, so I live with the quirks too. I figure, eh, it cooks, so I\'ll keep on dealing with it haha. So, what did you pic out for a new oven????
I will go check out your photos! I love cat photos of any kind. It does sound like your step son is an awfully nice guy. Praise God!
I sure enjoyed all the pics you took at the shelter! Thanks so much! And you did a marvelous job of getting good shots of each one of them!
Enjoy your new oven! I think it was really nice of you and your husband not to take advantage of your husband\'s son, especially since he was trying to help.
Love and hugs to you, dear friend!
My fridge will be joining her soon, though only 17. These younger appliances just don\'t have the fortitude of the previous generation, haha
You\'re step son is so nice to try and help, he must\'ve felt awful, poor guy. You\'ll have to let us know which one you got and how much you love it.
I admire the way you manage your disease. I seem to be in a battle of wills with mine, not very accepting.
Love to you always
So nice you took some pictures at the cat shelter, I will go and have a look at them, it is always so nice to see your beautiful pictures. oh dear sorry to hear your oven has packed up after 25 yrs. but I am sure your new one is going to be so nice.
