Well I had my regular appt with my diabetes dr this past week. When I go see him I've got to bring a wk to 2 wks worth of blood tests to show him. For some reason I thought OK I felt pretty positive this time that I could go there proud of some pretty good blood tests. So, I connected my meter to my computer, ran a report & boy oh boy was I not a happy camper. When tests are too high it colors those in red. I had way too many reds in the tests taken in the evening abt an hr prior to going to bed. My morning & noon were not too bad at least, still not the best, but not as bad. At least my lab tests were sort of OK. My cholesterol was excellent. My A1C(which is a type of diabetes test) was 9 & my dr does not want it to be over 7. In 3 months when I go back I'd better darn well have a major improvement to show him. A while back I had had an appt set up at our Diabetes Education Center where I spent an hr with a nurse educator. I was surprised when my dr told me they had reported back to him on my visit. He was pleased at least that I'd gotten something out of the visit. Next is the dietition in August. I'm hoping she can help rearrange my evening eating problems. It's funny cause I always consider myself very careful with what I eat. I always strive to balance carbs, low fat, etc. etc. but somewhere I'm slipping up. I think my problem is that by abt 4ish I start to get hungry & sometimes nibble while i'm making supper. I'm thinking I better start to keep more raw veggies to nibble on. Well we'll see what the dietition says. Overall I guess I can't complain abt not having a team that cares abt my diabetes which is a good thing. Oh yea, I go for an CT Scan of my lower back & left pelvic area on the 23rd, will be nice to see where that goes. Take care everyone.
