Well we got some news today re my hubby's situation. This ltr came & when I looked at the address I knew it was our major cancer center. We opened it & he's scheduled for his 1st visit/consult with the brachy therapy dr next Friday. I was please that we didn't have to wait too much longer. I'm hoping that although this is a consuult, I would think for them to establish if he's a good candidate for brachy, that after that we won't have to wait too much longer after. Satisfying news yet so scary somehow cause I just got to thinking what's going to happen after that, I mean how will our days be, how will he feel, etc. etc. I have to keep reminding myself to stay focused on the positive that the Lord can bless us with. I sure hope he can see thru how unsure I am right abt now. Some news on a diff note - I've got a sister that has battled a weight problem for so many yrs. I came across this seminar taking place at a local hotel here next Sat afternoon. It's called a 24K Chocolate Skinny party. Sounds weird huh but here is what it is-there's a woman fr the 3rd season of the Worlds Biggest Loser program, her & her hubby will be talking abt the whole dieting issue, lifestyle, ups & downs etc. etc. And then there's a health professional who will be talking abt your bodys PH levels & other related diet/health issues. There's gonna be food & here's the topper-they're gonna have this fruit thing with a huge chocolate fondue. Supposed to be some company's with maybe products, etc. Although I don't have a weight issue I'm going to go to support my sisteras I figure we can all use cheerleaders can't we. I've now decided that the burden I have to carry with Lupus is not getting sufficient sleep. Three nights ago I went to bed at 9:00 p.m., woke up at abt 11:30ish, stayed awake till 4:00 a.m. then slept again till 6:30ish. Man this is hard to take sometimes.

I\'m glad hubby has an appointment for treatment soon, and I pray that he has no side effects, which I do believe is possible. A friend of our family had that and I think the worst thing that happened was that he was moderately tired, so that\'s not too bad! I pray that the treatment works 100% and that you can find peace and joy thru the situation. Sometimes I think we think that if we aren\'t in anguish it shows that we aren\'t concerned, but I finally have it thru my thick skull that we can find joy and peace and even happines thru the storm if God is at the wheel. I think it\'s nice that you are supporting your sister -- that is just a lovely thing to do! Don\'t you think it\'s a bit ironic that htey celebrate with chocolate? Now don\'t get me wrong, I love it, but it seems like such a temptation to spend the whole day there huh? LOL
I\'m having some sleep issues too. I find I wake at 1 or 2 am, am awake \"thinking\" (ugh) for 2 hours then fall deeply asleep only to have troulbe getting up when the alarm goes off. Maybe we should both try that acupressure thing: inside the wrist about inches up from the \"bend\" inbetween the two tendons... press for a while and you should feel relaxed. my acupuncturist used to put needles there always and I would always sleep like a log 2 nights afterward. ahhhhhh. I\'d forgotten about that for a while. love ya, m
