Well my appt with my rheumy went well overall. He's confident that the whole issue with me the last few days is related to a flue/bug issue vs a lupus issue because it happened within 2 days after my hubby took ill. He was pleased that after the fluid treatment I've made a def turn for the better. The appetite is still iffy and some cramping but I think if I stick with the low fiber diet for several days & keep drinking water, juice, etc. that it will help alot. BUT, here's the big news. Because of what I've just been through he wants me to stay on my 2.5 prednisone every 2nd day for abt a wk and a half then THATS IT I'M OFF IT!!!!!!! But also, he wants me to try the methotrexate again but at a reduced dose and see how that works. He thoroughly examined my breathing, joints, blood pressure, checked my mouth, etc. etc. & he seems pleased everything is holding it's own. Now, have to make it through my hubby's appt on the 21st.

Fantastic! Great news. I\'m so happy for you. I wish I could get off the prednisone. But I guess I am lucky it\'s only 4 mgs. Could be 40.
I\'m very unsure about Methotrexate. My doctor years ago wanted me to go on but I refused. Too many side effects. I know prednisone has side effect too. But I feel more comfortable on it.
2 weeks to go and then you will have an answer about hubby\'s prostate. I am praying hard that it is nothing.
My thoughts are with you and hubby.

so are you happy to be going off the prednisone or is it a scary thing?
I remember being thrilled and losing 20 lbs right away. = ) you don\'t look like you could afford to lose any weight though.
