A pitiful situation at the shelter this a.m.  Normally when people inquire abt giving up a pet of over 10 yrs old we explain that it can be very traumatic & not emotionally fair & that they try & make other recommendations. I get there today and a cat was brought in thats 15 yrs old.  It's so traumatized and emotionally crushed that, well, what more can I say.  I watched it sitting in it's cage shaking so I went & got a thick warm blanket to add to his cage & tried to make it feel better.  You can tell he's thinking something like "OK I was living my life and now wham everythings taken fr me, what happened, why am I here, etc. etc.".  But because the people in question here have been strong supporters of the shelter they felt they had no choice but to take it in. I'd like to look at them & say OK how are you going to feel when you get old & people find you a bother, pass you around, don't want the responsbility etc. etc. Maybe I'm too soft hearted here I don't know or there's something major wrong with my thinking.   Anywho I'm finding out today that major emotional upheavel is definitely hard on Lupus also. All my friends who read this - thanks so much for listening.
