Well did my 1/2 day at the animal shelter.  We had a kitten brought in last wk, so pathetic, & I found out he had some sort of neuro muscular thing.  Our staff are always so so burdened that no one really had the proper amt of time for him.  It really bothered me & my hubby & I decided we'd foster him for a bit so I could give him love, emotional & mental stimulation along with a kind of physical therapy for his little body.  When I got there this a.m. they said that he had been put down due to the fact of what his condition could maybe develop into the future.  I accept this of course but for some reason I was just devastated.  He had been named Frankie. To burden the morning even more, 2 days ago our authorities had done a sort of raid on a puppy mill and took abt 80 - 90 cocker spaniels & beagles.  I won't elaborate on some of the conditions, you can use your imagination.  Our shelter took abt 10 of the beagles.  One little guy just sits in the back of his cage & shakes.  What is wrong with some people!!!!So all in all most of you can imagine how physically that just abt finished me for the day.  But I can say it didn't totally finish me as I'm too stubborn for that.  So on that note I'm hoping it means that overall I'm doing OK with my Lupus and maybe even winning. So for all who took time to read this - I thank you for letting me cry on your shoulders.I send you all the ultimate best wishes I can.

You have such a good heart for animals. I know that was devastating to you and you wanted to care for the cat. I had a beagle at one time and he was a very hyper dog. We had him since he was about 8 weeks. He came from owners that didn\'t take care of him in another state. We had in for a long time until I had to move and we had to give him away. He was such a great dog.

oh, that is so sad. I would think that work would be very tiring both physically and emotionally. I know I would take the emotions home with me. Poor Frankie. It is shocking what some people do to animals. I hope you can get some rest tomorrow. hugs my friend.

It must be interesting working in an animal shelter. The only problem I would have is wanting to take them home. I hate seeing an abused animal. You have a heart of gold. I comend you. Hugs Nancy

I just love that you work with animals and love and care for them so much. Wish others cared for them as much as you do. I kind of favor dogs and always had them when my son was growing up..some times I wish i still had one. Love n hugs frieda
