A good day today.  I can confidently say that I have found such an appreciation for the good days.  I find it hard not to overdue myself cause you're feeling so right.Sure am having some trouble with food/diet stuff.  So many items I eat fairly regularily all have that nasty word "Hydrogenated" and it seems hard, here in Canada anyway, to find substitutes.  I'm wondering if I'll have no choice but to pay more and go to an Organic food store or what.  Boy, a bit confused about this.

hugs! I know ... at first when I began to take trans fats out of my diet it felt so overwhelming!
I wish someone had given me a list but the herbalist I was seeing just sent me out to read labels. back then, they hadn\'t yet had the explosion of people being transfat free that they do now and it was much harder.

so, here are a few things that don\'t have transfats that I eat:

regular triscuit brand crackers
goldfish crackers
some whole grain breads are OK
I use regular butter (sparingly) as a better option than margarine, but there is one healthy margarine out there made from soy (green and white tub)
here, we have Paul Newman cookies and they are pretty all-natural
peanut butter: I buy the ?Kraft? stuff that is all natural, just peanuts and salt.
If I want pie crust or cakes, I just make mine from scratch.
cereals: I stick mostly with cheerios or LIfe or cooked grains.
fresh, flat, tortillas: there\'s one brand of heatlhy ones, they come in spinach or tomato -- other than that, forget it. = (

if you try not to buy too many prepared foods, you will find it much easier.
I think it helps to just try to shift focus on one thing a month otherwise you want to cry, right?

like after I did all the other things I needed to fix in my diet, the very last was to look for high fructose corn syrup. it\'s in tons of stuff. leave that one till last if you can.

good luck. hang in there. I\'ve been there!

by the way...
now that I\'m used to the shopping and preparation changes, it is totally manageable, it\'s just a matter of getting into the habit of reaching for that yogurt or that type of eggs...

once you read the label and decide it becomes automatic from then on.

and, if I want popcorn, I just plop some in a covered skillet with some olive oil and in 3 minutes, it\'s ready.
if you have Kashi brand up there (cereals, waffles, and snack bars), I think their entire line is transfat free.
but, then if you decide to make your own waffles, honey, you\'ll never go back to boxed LOL

aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh. sorry! I just forgot for a moment about your celiac and diabetis. I\'m sure my posts seem insensitive since most of my things I listed have wheat in them.

well, I do know about some cooked grains that might possibly be good, but you\'ve probably already tried them and I\'m afraid I might put my foot all the way down my throat if I don\'t stop myself now. = )
