anxiety

hello to my DS sisters.   this is a pregnancy update, so please don't read if you can't.
Today I am 24 weeks and 5 days.   thankfully, I have had great check ups and am doing well.   every week is a victory and I celebrate it as such.  but as i get larger and as the weeks increase, so does my anxeity.   I know that anything can happen any day and i don't want to wake up every day wondering if today is the day something will go wrong.   that's not a healthy way to think, but I know you all understand how hard it is to break that IF cycle of just waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under you.
you know what I mean?   the kind of destructive thinking that sounds like "things have been going too well - something bad is about to happen."
how do I talk myself out of that?

I\'m so happy to hear the updates have been going well!

I\'m not sure how you talk yourself out of the worry. I was thinking about this yesterday as I had my freakout and all I could think to do was to read success stories. It was a great way to remind myself that, although bad things can happen, so can good! It helped a lot.

You are almost 25 weeks!! That is absolutely fantastic! I keep telling myself that I will calm down when I get to around 20, but I think I\'ll worry about my child for the rest of my life. I guess we are just doomed to a life of no sleep and worry! :)

Hang in there. Things are going great so take a little time to believe it, and have faith that this second half of your pregnancy will go just as well!

I am 31 weeks today and cry all the time fearing having to deliver a still born. Everyone rolls their eyes at me but I simply cannot not imagine actually having a child in my life. When he has a quiet day and doesn\'t move much I have complete panic attacks. IF is a part of me, I need to accept that it will never leave.

Lol it doesn\'t go away! Like you said, you continue to worry. I feel too lucky to have my two boys and feeling like I am waiting for \"other shoe is going to drop\"...SIDS terrifies me. They are 10 weeks old and most nights, multiple times, I creep into their nursery and use the glow of my phone to light up their crib enough to verify they are breathing. Congrats on almost hitting 25 weeks! Yeah!!! :)

Yep, right there with you. But I try not to let it consume me. And when I am having bad days and it is consuming me, I just think they are now one day closer to having a fighting chance were the other shoe to drop and I go into early labor.

Its hard not to worry after it was such a battle to get where we are. But remember, good things do happen. And your pregnancy and birth will be some of those good things!

I\'m so glad that things have gone well for you so far! I\'m not sure how we get ourselves out of the anxiety mindframe; I think it\'s something we IFers (and ladies) will always have to deal with. For me, focusing on my littles helps. I\'ve had a hard week of dealing with physical side effects, but when I went in for my US, all of that went away. Just seeing their little (moving!) forms on the ultrasound screen erased every bad, anxious, and sick thought I\'ve had all week and reminded me to be thankful that I\'m still plugging along. Maybe find a way to remind yourself of your littles? I know your growing tummy is a HUGE sign, but a well-placed picture or making an ultrasound image the background for your phone will help.

Good luck! I\'m thinking of you.

I HAD TO resolve myself to the facts. If I was\'nt meant to be pregnant than I wouldn\'t have been. I wanted to remember the fun of being prego, ya know. There\'s enough disturbances i.e. frequent trips the the bathroom, sore feet etc. We deserve the happiness TOO!
