Just checking in with my thoughts for the day...

I would be lying to myself if I said that she isn\'t trying to make things better between us. But I ma simply not doing well coping with the fact the she was with someone else, repeatedly. It still kills me. I know I\'m supposed to not let the hurt linger and focus on only the positive things in our lives now, the past is the past, right? So then why is this so damn hard to deal with??? She is my wife, I love her and I always will, but staying with someone that has lied and betrayed me is tough. Someone asked me if we didn\'t have a child would I have left, and I immediately answered yes. Maybe I should feel bad about admitting that but I don\'t. I guess this is where I have to give it time. I will, but how much, i don\'t know......

Something I had to come to terms with pretty quickly is that it takes a long time to heal after this sort of betrayal. It takes a long time to forgive and an even longer time to move on. I will never forget.

I can\'t stop thinking, if I had done this or said that, or knew this or he told me that, I could have shown him how much I loved him and he would never have done what he did.

But the truth remains, he made a choice as did your wife, to do what felt good for them without thinking of the consequences on us and in your case your son.

As much as you are trying so very hard to focus on the positive and move on, you can\'t do that unless you get rid of all the anger and resentment that\'s inside you ready to explode (I am separated and still trying to let go of it all after almost 8months). I feel it like a weight on my shoulders sometimes just sitting there and weighing me down and making me unable to move on.

Whatever you do, make sure that you know in your heart it\'s the best thing for YOU. Your boy will be happy as long as his daddy is.
