Stomach is feeling a little better today. Keeping heat on it has helped, as has upping the fiber intake. I spoke to mom last night, and though she at first identified more of my symptoms as common with her IBS, she later emailed me about Diverticulitis, and it sounded a LOT more like what I've had going on. Fever, chills, pain on the left side, etc. etc. I thought it was kind of a better diagnosis, but there's just no better diagnosis, is there? Just read some suggestions, and I'm going to keep them in mind. They are: You might want to buy some Aloe Vera juice and take that 3 times a day. Also, probiotics, enzymes, a fiber supplement. Drink loads of water. There are foods to avoid, such as: seeds, nuts, skin of tomato, apple, etc.  Well, the water I'm good on. I take a fiber supplement, and upped it. I've been eating apples more of late, and I wonder if that's been aggravating it. That could really be it. Thankfully, after reading some of the diverticulitis forum, I'm nowhere near as far as some of the other folks, but it's really sounding more and more like what's going on with me. One thing that has me hopeful is that lots of people have only one attack and never another, and in those cases it's brought on by stress. As pointed out by my therapist yesterday, I'm really under the most stress I've been in since she's been seeing me. So...yeah, makes sense. Ah, well. I'm not jumping to a diagnosis, but it sounds really, really likely. It's good to at least have a name to put to it. Also looks like I'm going to have to do something about my sponsor. I called him yesterday to talk about meeting up before last night's meeting and the first thing he said to me was that he thought I had trouble with maintaining serenity. My only response was "yeah, I've had two friends die on me". Not to mention all the other things. It was just such a "duh" statement. I guess when I look at my sponsor in my other program I find this guy lacking. He's been helpful in the good times, but now that the chips are down, he really doesn't want to listen. Which does me no good at all. I have tried to be patient, as he is going through his own trials, but ultimately it does me no good, and it may do him no good, either, as he may feel guilty. So I have a decision to make, one way or another. Through God's grace, though, I am still sober. Abstinent in my food choices and sober all around. I am so grateful for that.
