4 Years Since It All Changed
Today marks 4 Years Since my dad had his stroke...and when my life changed forever. It was probably around this hour (3AM), When my mom came into my room yelling that we needed to help my dad, me knowing he had a work party that day, he needed help loading up the car, and it was tike to get ready for school, but no. There my dad was in the scariest state I have ever seen a person in, especially my dad, and all of us nor sure of what was going on. After 4 hours in the ER we were told he had a mild diabetic stroke. As the months past, countless hospital bed side sleepovers, missing work and school, turning to my friends (This was also my senior year of high school) but also turning into he deepest, longest confusing, foggy depression state that lasts until this very day. My dad has been in the hospital countless times since then, even as we speak, his relationship with me and my mom has changed drastically, me and my dad became closer , but it was becoming draining. Since then pretty much EVERY aspect of my life has changed for the worst. My dads whole personality has changed due to the stroke and is easily agrivated...I actually have an amazing life , amazing relationship, job, friends and extended family, it's hard to get out of that fog... I have insomnia due to that feeling of my mom coming in that 3am that I can never shake. I'm always on standby and expecting and preparing for the worst. I hate it.

Writing it out allows the brain to release it.
Now, you have to choose to add the positive to that scene, to allow your memories to include the follow-up to the call.
You can do this!
