4 months sober and 4th step woes
I admit, I have procrastinated with my fourth step. It didn't mean I didn't want to do one. It's just the thought of getting all that shit out on paper really put me off. Recently, my sister was just institutionalized and it has been very hard on our family. My family and I only lately been cordial and almost...dare I say...normal with one another before this happened. So we are all feeling the burdens now. I told my sponsor that since I am not able to firmly commit to much else than work and family and some things for myself in order to keep my life running in the right direction, that I'd need a break from her sponsorship. I just want to press pause. I don't know for how long but I don't imagine this will go on forever...I just need to take it easy. And it's impossible to take it easy when you're already reeling from trying to figure out your fucking part in certain childhood events. She says I'm setting myself up. Maybe I am. Maybe I want to know there is an escape hatch in this fucking plane so that if all looks lost, I can just jam out. I don't want to. Drinking is not what I'm trying to work back to. But it sure as hell is nice to know that you can execute your will IF you want to. I need to be praying, I need to meditate, I need to do the next thing I need to do, keep taking actions, meeting-makers make it they say. So I'm trying to start what I was working on with my fourth over with a clean slate and trying to keep it simple. The book doesn't seem to be giving me all the details. Hahaha. I like to complicate the shit out of everything. Any suggestions??
