3rd Dday and 32nd wedding anniversary

Our 3rd Dday anniversary (Discovery day that my husband found out about my affair) and our 32nd wedding anniversary are only 4 days apart.  Sunday was our Dday anniversary and Thursday is my wedding anniversary.  We spent this last weekend at a bed and breakfast in honor of both.  It was a wonderful weekend.  There is nothing like spending all that quality time focused on each other.
It is somewhat appropriate that we always end up celebrating them together because Dday was basically the death of our marriage as we knew it and could have been the death of our marriage completely, but instead it was a rebirth of our marriage, and because my affairs were so damaging to me spiritually it was pretty much a rebirth of myself (in a spiritual sense) as well.
On these anniversaries now, we always really take the time to appreciate the fact that we are still together and that we have been able to grow so much in our marriage through the work we have done and the work that God has done in us.  It really is amazing and a lot to be thankful for.
We talked a lot about how far we have come in the last 3 years, we talked some about the horrors of the time right after discovery.  It's pretty hard to talk about.  But we also talked about how far we have come in just this past year.  It is nice to look back and see progress and especially continued progress.
I love this man so much!  We have learned through our book reading and therapy how to truly show our love to each other in the way we each best receive it.  What I need, to not just know I am loved but to really FEEL loved, is not the same as what he needs to feel loved.  Once you learn to express your love to each other in the ways it is best received, it just snowballs and rebuilding is so much easier and it prevents a lot of the traps that a lot of couples fall into while rebuilding.  We were lucky that our therapist took this approach from the beginning and was able to help us get on the right track rather quickly.
So for right now, I am just so thankful to be married to this man for 32 years.  I am so thankful that he was able to do all the amazing things he did to help us rebuild from the tragic things I did.  I am thankful and I treasure each moment we get to spend together and I do not take him for granted.  I do not take "us" for granted.
Thank you honey, for focusing on the fact that I was broken and needed to heal and for doing all you could to help me do that, even through your own pain.  Thank you for loving me so much in all the ways possible with a love that never stopped, even in your deepest pain.  Thank you for never rejecting me.  Thank you so much for being willing to address our marriage and make changes yourself, along with me, so that we could now have this amazing relationship. Thank you for sending me a sweet, loving text every morning when you wake up, thank you for the wonderful things you said about our rebuilding in the blog, and thank you for wearing silly anniversary T-shirts all over town this weekend and thus getting lots of smiles and remarks and people saying "awww" because we were so cute and funny.  There is something very cool about people being able to see how much we love each other. Thank you for all that and so much more! You are the best,  I love you!
