Well, I just signed up yesterday & posted goals tonight.  I want to take life head on and live it fully.  I've grieved about a tentative diagnosis of seizure disorder for almost 2 weeks now & for me that is enough.  Time to stop it & move on with life.  At least that's how I feel now.  I woke up at 2:30 this morning to find my left leg had a mind of its own--raised a few inches off the bed and jerking.  I tried to stop it but couldn't.  Then the shaking started in the other leg, then my whole body stiffened & started shaking like a continuous STRONG shiver.  I was aware of the whole thing & tried to stop it & couldn't.  I move around in my sleep so my husband didn't wake--he sleeps deeply, bless him.  He would have panicked anyway--I wouldn't have woke him if I could have.  This has never happened before other than as a reaction to the super brite fast strobing lite in the EEG a week ago.  Until now, I basically had what the doctors think is absence seizures (complex partial?), mild twitches, strange smells. This new one scared me.  Now I'm ready to fight back. I hate being held down. I want my life, my car, & my machines back (all but life are off limits for now & I aim to keep it).  So, I've set goals & all this is helping me feel emotionally better which I think is helping my body destress.  Tomorrow is a new day-a positive start.  I can still laugh at myself & my friends & I enjoy mutual poking fun gently with love-lots of laughs.  It helps us all.  Anyone want to walk with me?

I love your attitude. Keep it up. I know it isn\'t always easy. Epilepsy kind of scares me. Having a sense of humor is probably the very best approach to take.

I get the smells too. They are simple partial seizures. (also can be called \"auras\" particularly when they are followed by complex or other seizures)
