Feeling Good
Well I am coming up on my 1yr and I didn't meet my goal but I am not too upset. I have lost 105 lbs and that in it self is wonderful. I feel great with lots of energy for the new grandbaby and my family has seen me in my first pair of blue jeans in a very very very long time. I am still having to eat every 2hrs or so to maintian my sugar level and at times that bothers me because I seem to eating all the time. At least it is not junk food alot of veggis and protein. I can tell you I do get hungry and I feel the hunger pain when I miss my 2 hrs. The holiday went well I was able to taste everything and it all stayed down. The dark meat was not so good reheated but the white meat was great as long as I added gravy to keep moist. I even tried the pies which was a treat yummy! Getting ready for the next holiday and the baking will begin soon so I will be cookied out soon. I make my cook baskets and I bake about 12 different cookies each about 2-4 dozen depending on my family stealing. It is so much fun and I did it right after my sugery last year and it went well. Everyone thought I would go crazy not being able to eat the cookies but I really didn't eat them to begin with. After cooking them you really don't want to eat them you get sick of the smell of sugar. I am eating just about everything I was before the surgery just not as much. I still haven't tried steak but I will on xmas. The hubby wants honey ham and prime rib so this will be a first for both. Up to now I have been eating alot of turkey, chicken, pork and seafood. I have cut out the cheese products to a limit it seems to help with my constipation. I still snack on jerky at night and I have added a peanut mix. I eat alot of Koshi due to the protien and fiber. All in all I think I am eating pretty good. I go to my 1 yr nutritional appt this month not sure what day yet and I will see the group of people I had my surgery with. We have done everything together this far and it will be great to see how far everyone has come and changed since the surgery. A reunion of sorts.
