I spent time tonight making a list of my friends, their loved one(s), the date they passed, and details from their profile. I also listed my friends real name next to their screen name, if it was available from their journal or hug list. When I pray or think about my friends, I like to use their real name if known. Not that I am asking for names. There is a reason for screen names and privacy. It helps to have the list, as my friends list continues to grow. Over time, I only need to refer to the list for newer friends. I hear so many say to me that I am in their thoughts and prayers (not those on this forum, friends in my life). I know their intentions are pure, but I doubt if I am in their thoughts daily, and over time, maybe not at all. I want to honor those on this forum that are my friends. When I say you are in my thoughts and prayers, I don't want that to be hollow words. My list helps me remember all my friends, loved ones, dates, and details. I go over it every day. I don't always post on this forum, either because I'm not on my computer, or I am just not up to it. My list is always there to remind me just how special you are.

Thank you so much for your expression of sincerity to all of us here.
Our friends list does tend to get bigger, and although its good to have another friend, it\'s also a reality to know, someone else has lost a loved one. Today is exactly six months since I got the news about Shaun dying. It feels like time has not moved at all for me - I\'m no better today, than I was six months ago. I go through the motions of life - but I\'m not really here, like I used to be. I know I will live on,
but I also know that missing my son so much will be a part of my life every day. Take care - in my prayers too.

I think that is wonderful of you. I know what you mean -- I try not to say you are in my prayers unless I really mean it. And my last pastor told me how she handles that (because she had so very many to pray for) she\'d begin by praying for them the minute they asked, or the minute she said/typed that to someone and then kept on from there.
I don\'t have any lost loved ones at the moment -- mine who have gone have been gone for 2 years or more. So I\'ll leave that spot on your list for someone who is hurting.
Bless you, mechelle
I understand about the hollow words. I don\'t pray much as I have not felt good about my faith since Melissa\'s death. I still struggle with this. So when I say you are in my thoughts you truly are, when I say that you are in prayers you are, but I don\'t pray much anymore. I ask Melissa for help, she is my angel now. This is the only way I can cope for the moment. I thank you for your honesty, this is what we need now more than anything, not the hollow words or the how are you\'s, when they really don\'t want to hear how we really are. So we lie and say okay. I\'m glad that you find comfort here with us on DS. Peace be with you, Hugs.
You are such a kind, gentle, genuine person. I\'m so proud to call you friend. And you are in my thoughts daily as are most of my DS friends as we all struggle along this painful path.
I am with mechellebelle\'s pastor. As soon as I type that in a message or hug to someone, I stop and say a prayer for them. I never want those words to be hollow words either. I\'m sending a prayer for you now John! Take care. Tahnee X
Well John, I\'ll tell you what...in my bedtime prayers every night I picture the people on this site with either their screen names or their posted pictures and I ask God to give them peace and strength and comfort them and I\'m just hoping he knows who I am referring to..lol..I guess I give him alot of credit for reading my mind! lol..it\'s like I say to God..\"oh c\'mon, you know who I mean\"...I just \"think\" it to him..
I so appreciate your thoughtfulness, but I wonder if doing all that and concentrating so long on that , if it didn\'t bring you too much sadness and another burden on your already heavily loaded shoulders....? You\'re a dear, dear man, thanks again friend, peace.
John, you are such a wonderful person. You are thoughtful and you mean what you say. Thank you for thinking of us all.
Joy
John, you are such a sweet, wonderful and caring man. My friends here on DS help give me strength during my time of grieving. Your friendship means so much to me.
