Day 9:

I made it through the Holidays! Christmas at least!!
I have told one good friend everything about my financial state and my gambling addiction. She called me the other day while I was driving past the casino. Talked me all the way home. That was super comforting and helpful. It also helped me see how supportive people can be, rather than shame me, which is what I expect to happen.
The gambling urge is there today. Its Sunday, my normal routine would be to do my chores and then head to the casino. I have plans today, that do NOT involve gambling. My whole day is pretty mapped out.
Tomorrow is payday. That day will be mapped out too. The nagging thing about tomorrow is that I will have enough money to pay SOME of my bills, not all of them. So there is this all or nothing thing going on in my head. If you cant catch up in one paycheck, well to hell with it, gamble this one away too...black and white; all or none. Even as I write that it feels compelling. BUT I will make a financial plan that pays as much as possible on my bills and gives me enough to make it to the next payday. I will accumulate no more debt. I will get my bills caught up and my financial state back in order. This feels so HARD, but in reality, all I truly have to do is; do not go to the casino. That's it. Just don't go there. Oh how simple that SOUNDS....

You can do this. I am only beginning and I know how hard this is. I too have debt that I need to get out of. Gosh and I also feel that all or nothing thinking. Just remember how strong you are.
