Yep I think I might be excellent…really not sure why…I swear it’s the fact it’s Christmas and I just found out their closing the full day on Monday, forced PTO time but I’ll take it. If I didn’t know better I’d suspect that my DH has been spiking my morning coffee!   So have yet to hear from RE, so my fate is still unknown. Now I’m not sure when I’ll hear, 12/20 she was to leave for vacation until 01/4, so now what! I’m beyond worrying about I guess, between this and my father’s impending by-pass.   Holidays are certainly far more complicated when everyone is married. I’m a little annoyed with everyone this year. My DH’s brother and wife have been a little (and I use the word loosely) distant, we’ve not seen the kids since September. Normally we head to their house early Christmas morning before the kid are up to do the whole Santa’s revealed and breakfast.  But since we haven’t really been in communication, I finally just called. Slightly uncomfortable conversation with my SIL, both mildly annoyed sounding regarding lack of communication, which quite frankly had me a little surprised, I’ve emailed on numerous occasions, and there has certainly been reasons for her to call and check in with us! But anyway, we had a lukewarm “Well we’ll be here, more the merrier” invitation. I might be more likely to sleep in if it’s weren’t for the kids! I’m sure whatever “this” is between us will pass, but right now it’s terribly annoying. Then there’s my brother and his wife. Now I’m sure I’m reading more into this then there is BUT, they live within minutes of her family see them almost everyday, spend Christmas Eve with them, and Christmas morning her brother has kids, and have dinner too. We have Christmas dinner together so there are two dinners and they make those, and we schedule the time around my bro and SIL, we spend Christmas dinner with extended family so try and get together at some point before or after to exchange gifts, last year it was difficult enough to get them to “fit us in”, this year they just aren’t. So a side from seeing them for dinner, where they inevitably “chew and screw” the next time I’ll see them is for my Dad’s surgery, or to discuss my father’s assets and wishes before surgery – weee freaking’ fun!   Starting to see why I might be surprised at my good mood ;0)

Did you and your SIL used to be close? Does she know what your going through? Maybe if you were close you could ask her to meet you for coffee and tell her how your feeling. Sometimes it\'s better just to get things out in the open. You have enough to deal with then thinking about what\'s wrong. I like to face things right on and deal with them, I don\'t know if that\'s a good or bad thing sometimes though.
Keep us posted on how your father is doing. I hope everything goes smoothly.
