The joy and hope of the holiday season and the smell of fresh tree in the house must have me in its grasp, because otherwise I’m thinking I’d be far more freaked out then I am. Had my appointment, last minute, with RE. She wanted to talk face to face, should be a tip off there, it’s either really good or really not. Turns out I’m a case study which has spurred much debate among the docs. Because of the Endo, I have what they call “frozen pelvis”, this poses a problem going in for any kind of surgery never mind dealing w/ the Hydro. Apparently two things are OUT, removal of tube and laparoscopy. Clamping the tube off so still a possibility BUT it will be full on surgery, full bowel-prep, surgical team and all. Days in hospital, not out-patient. Of course DH mentions, that isn’t there a possibility of this being considered “elective” by ins company and therefore we’re screwed? Thanks hun! Cross that bridge if we get there. Then there’s an option of “aspirating” the tube before FET, this is apparently a hotly debated issues, being relatively new and therefore the “effectiveness” is questioned as well as the fact that infection is a concern, being a relatively “blind” procedure. But then with Endo, anytime they go in even for the ER there’s a greater chance of that. And so now she also thinking that based on where the Hydro is located, the very far end of the tube, she wonders if it really was the cause of the BFN, or if it was simple “not the egg”. SO she is going back to the board of brains with me (in the form of my med records) to decide what they think is the best and most beneficial way to proceed. Now I am officially a science project! Much to my surprise I’m not losing it. Maybe it’s the forward movement, sort of. Maybe its I have complete faith in my RE, and the fact that this is cause for hot-debate I know will, and she re-enforce this, bring out the biggest brains in the field here, so I’m in good hands. Or maybe there are so many possibilities at this point maybe I’m just doing what’s best and not borrowing trouble. So I’ll wait until Thursday and see what the decision is.

I am glad you are handling all this well right now. The smell of Christmas trees always makes me feel good too! :-)
I think if your RE tries to word the forms to the insurance company as it is a procedure you need for reasons other then fertility, it may be covered. Maybe talk with her if that is the route you chose and see what she says. Good luck!
