Today, had kinda been a fair day.  I did my CT and I talked to the doctor that did my scan.  She compared the scan today with the one they did 3.5 months ago.  The large clot that was there is gone so that is good news but there is a new little one in another artery.  I don't know how I could have formed another one while I was on blood thinners.  She looked back on my old scan and couldn't find the other clot.  I haven't talked to my doctor yet.  I am going to ask him if maybe the clot could have broken off and gotten stuck in the new place?  Maybe something covered it up and made it not show up on the first one?  All I know is that it sucks to still have a clot!  I'm feeling kinda depressed!!  I know I should be glad at least the other one is gone but having a new one just makes me anxious because if I can for a clot on lovenox whats going to happen when I get off of it?  I just don't understand why I can't have a clean bill of health like all the other reports I have heard!! I mean I am glad everyone is doing good and the clots are gone but I want mine gone too!!!  I have felt like crying at some points today and then others felt happy that at least the large clot is gone, but mostly I fell like its just not fair.... I know I know life isn't fair but you guys know what I mean

Good news is yes, the large one is gone and be very thankful that the little one has been found early. Have you had any genetic testing done yet? I think it\'s very unusual to get another one, especially being on blood thinners, hmmm, very puzzling. Well you definately need to chat with your doctor, regardless it\'s still unsettling news. But, I am very happy that your large one is gone. When will they scan you again? Well were all here for you!

I don\'t know anything yet. They have done genetic testing and it all came back normal. I have to go back and see the doctor after the holiday. I don\'t know if he will call me before then or not.

thats really strange. sorry you didn\'t get to hear what you wanted to. maybe the large clot broke down into smalled pieces. the only places they can move to if they do set off moving is further along the artery that it is already in, therefor causing less damage. I\'d talk to a haematologist who specialises in blood clots - they\'ll be able to give you the best answers to this. and keep me updated.

the test I\'m going for this week is an echocardiogram. have had two already and were both fine, its just a precaution at the three month stage. I\'ll never get given another CT scan unless I have sympotms of another PE - thats just the way our health system works. It\'s great for treatment, but is not very proactive at preventing these things!!

(ps, is the CT scan the one where you lie down and they inject x-ray dye in to you and then you go under a spinning donut shaped thing?? Had so many diffferent ones i dont know which is which...)
