Life is very busy.  Some days are just full and yet it is not too much.  This morning is a late start day for teachers.  We are supposed to meet and discuss teacher stuff.  Instead I am going to meet with my first period class at a restaurant and have breakfast together.  It is an advanced class and it will help us to bond further. In May, they take the Advanced Placement test and what we do in February will effect what happens in May and beyond.  Then after work I go to the dentist for the third time in two weeks.  No pain involved, first time replacing a cavity that fell out, then teeth cleaning and no fix a chipped tooth.  Lucky me.  Then my daughter's cell phone is broken so we need to get her a new one.  After all, she is seventeen!  Then she is sick so we go to wait at the HMO Immedcenter so she can get anti-biotics.  A trip to the market for cat food is in order and dinner(?) somewhere out there.  A full life is a good life at this point.  I am aware each day that the pain that I felt so severely for months is gone. I am also aware that I am very fragile and that my new found self awareness and peace is very important to me.  I need to wait and let the days take care of themselves.  My daughter talked to my stbx after her water polo game(my daughter's,hehe) yesterday.  My stbx's bf is in jail and she is cutting ties with him.  My daughter was so happy and relieved that she can have my wife back in her life.  As a father of course, I am worried that my wife says this now and will recant when the guy gets out of jail.  But that concern is not for today.  My son did not seem impressed by the news.  He still has stuff to work out in his head around his mother's abandoning him.  The timing is fortuitous for me. I don't want to go backwards.  There is nothing there for me.  My stbx hurt me so deeply that even thinking about going backwards makes me shudder.  The way I feel about life is just too good to risk that in anyway.  How did that change occur?  Slowly, day by day.  My thanks go to God, my friends, family and indeed the people here at DS who have buoyed me up through the healing process and who I know I can count on through the next steps.

I see that you are going to be pretty busy schedule soon. At least you are handling your business and not keeping idle in the situation. That is great! Yes, the cell phones issues with teenagers seem to never end. That all about being a great father for her to fall back on. Looking out for them is a awesome thing. I know I look out for my daughter. There is no other way. Keep focusing on yourself and your children and don\'t shrink back.

Keeping busy is the answer to forget the pain.

I agree staying busy is the key to letting the wounds heal.

You sound like such a great teacher. Your students are lucky.

Your obviously a good father also. I am glad you are moving forward.

Yes, my friend, take one day at a time and don\'t look back. It took me nearly 10 months to get where you are. It\'s not the most comfortable place in the world, but it is much better than being inn agony 24/7. I\'m thinking about you. Hugs, E.

Busy is good. Keeps us distracted. Just being a teacher alone is enough to keep you occupied around the clock. A student got mad at me yesterday because he came after school to do some makeup work and I wasn\'t there. Geeez. I told him I do have a life after school, and if it was okay with him I had doctor\'s appointments and medical tests this week. Little idgits. I love \'em but there are times I just need to shake \'em. LOL

Sorry to hear about all the ill effects the stbx has and continues to inflict. Just part of the game. It stinks. Hang in.
