Monday..Usually hate them but I feel a little different about this Monday. Probably because I had a very productive weekend. I need to have more of those. Cleaning my house the way that I used to made me feel like I am getting back to my normal self. It's about time. Strange vibes from the ex this weekend. Called a couple of times with happy progress reports about how much fun he and the kids were having. He is fine over the phone but in person he doesn't say anything. Won't look at me and acts like if he is not in and out in 5 seconds he will explode. He picked up the dog and the kids things while I wasn't here. Sent the kids in and they forgot some things. He told me that he does not feel comfortable coming into the house.  I actually don't feel comfortable with him coming into the house. At least when I am not here. 14 yrs of marriage and now we are polite strangers. I know very little about his life and he knows very little about mine.  Thats about as divorced as you can get. New relationship is moving forward. I like how and where things are going.  At some point I will throw caution to the wind and see how far this will go. For now, I am enjoying having someone in my life. Almost at the 1 year mark.  Amazing how much can happen in 1 yr. Thinking about what I still need to say and do to put it all in it's place. Not wanting to move forward with divorce baggage cluttering my path.  Thankful that I have so much to look forward to right now. A happy present is making it so much easier to put the past behind me. A happy Monday..didn't think it was possible.

I like reading your journal because you seem to be running a couple of months ahead of me and your present is my future. That future looks hopeful to me when we can rejoice in normal routine again.

I agree with above 100%. My little baby steps. Have to constantly remind myself--slow down--you can\'t be there yet. So slowing down and taking time to treasure and nurture what I have--so enjoying the present and not thinking about future. Not yet. You constantly amaze me with your positive outlook. But I realize this weekend, I just can\'t rush myself to be there yet. I will be. I now know I will be.

Great news and it\'s amazing how far you have come in a year. Yes, move forward with caution for now, but like you said, one day, you are going to have to just go for it again. Glad to hear this.

I think your ex still has a lot of guilt about what has happen and he can\'t face you. It maybe a while before he can. I think once you move on and find happiness again, it will put him a little more at ease. Until then, let him suffer a little :)

Have a happy Monday and enjoy the rest of the week.

Getting a good house cleaning in can be therapeutic, that\'s what I believe. So glad you had a great weekend.

Your future looks so right - ya better wear shades. (Lord I gotta get out of the 80s music mode - LOL - on second thought, NO WAY!)

Thank you for sharing this. I am actually starting to look forward to life after this divorce... and am thinking this fall might be a good time for me to be more open to someone else in my life. That would also be the one year mark for me from when it all blew up.

It is nice to read your journals because I have come to trust your judgment... you are honest, and so down to earth.

Glad you are in a good place. Hoping it\'s all smooth roads ahead for a long time to come for you. You deserve it.

I\'m hoping to get to the \"polite stranger\" stage - it\'s still combat for me. Looks like you and I were both cleaning house over the weekend - it is somewhat therapeutic, I must admit. Next weekend is the Closet Purge. I don\'t want to move a scrap of clothing that isn\'t going to get worn.

Ex is probably not able to look at you because he\'s trying to stay detached. That ain\'t easy. One year, I can only imagine it. Just hit one month here, not loving it. At least it took me 4 days to realize it.

The polite stranger stage is...well...strange. Just wierd to think I shared my hopes and dreams and intimate thoughts with someone, and now we barely have two words to say to each other. I hope I am where you are in 12 months, you are such a strong person. Thanks for keeping up your journal and letting us into your life and insights.
